"NOTE: For the folks at ClearCover - PLEASE DO NOT BOTHER TO RESPOND HERE TELLING US HOW YOU STRIVE TO ADDRESS ISSUES INTERNALLY. Given the reviews here, it is quite obvious this is NOT the case. You have had my claim and are aware of the status, so don't bother with your copy/paste response on this one. This is the case for all reviews here where you've responded with the same pathetic quip. You just want to check a box and respond to make consumers think you care - you really don't. There is a very obvious history across MANY different review sites which PROVES you have failed customers over and over. I want this to serve as a WARNING to anyone who is either considering ClearCover Insurance or who is a current customer - what you read here in the negative reviews is absolutely true. They do nothing to resolve their customer's issues - they only further complicate them, creating unnecessary hardships and in some cases serious financial harm to their customers. From denying claims for no reason and only approving only aftermarket parts, to involving 3rd party adjusters in attempts to reduce paying out, they are a pathetic example of an insurance company. My personal experience is the same as many others found here. I had an accident, I completed the claim process via the app, and at the time all seemed to be going well, until the vehicle was towed to the shop and additional damage was found. From the beginning, it has been obvious that ClearCover does not want to pay for the damages which were uncovered. They sent an adjuster, but the car has been non-drive-able and at the shop for almost two months now - and no repairs have been started yet as ClearCover is contesting the additional damages (which need to be addressed initially). At this point, I am being told by the shop there is no end in sight until they agree to paying the supplement. At this point, I am looking at another month at minimum until I get my primary family vehicle back."
"Clear Cover will leave you open to being sued, even if you're covered! Was hit by a Clear Cover insured motorist here in Kentucky in June, 2023. It took over five months to have the vehicle repaired due to CC's delays, lost paperwork, and inability to *ever* return a phone call. Their initial "AI" appraisal (which never actually had a real human look at the damaged vehicle) determined that the damage was $1,700. The final bill was $16,000. Now that the vehicle is back in working order, Clear Cover has denied our diminished value claim, stating "a court determined that if a vehicle is repaired at a certified shop, it is as good as new" which is contrary to decades of industry practice and court determinations. They've stonewalled at every turn. Our original claim representative "Shalon" had the audacity they'd received an email saying a judge decided that Diminished Value no longer had to be paid. When asked for a copy of that email, she declined. When asked for the cited case number, she suddenly couldn't find it. (Pro tip: when you're going to lie to someone, first check they don't come from a family of lawyers.) We are now forced to sue the Clear Cover insured motorist who hit us. If you're considering them to protect you, your family, and your vehicle, don't."
"The absolute worst company that I have ever dealt with. They are low rate and low budget. They want you to pay upfront for your rental car and then reimburse and they only give you enough to rent a compact car ($30), no matter what you drive. They claim that they are a newer company and are not set up with the rental companies for direct billing. If you ever have to deal with them, I would suggest getting a lawyer or using your own insurance company and let them fight it out. If I could give 0 stars, I would have."
"I was recently involved in a non-fault accident. Other insurance company USAA handled everything. They were kind, courteous and professional. After everything was said and done, i come.to find out that CLEARCOVER (my own insurance company) dropped me. Labeling me as non compliant and erroneous due to "claim history." I am a safe driver with near spotless driving record. This happened during a change in living situation. They refused to reinstate and allowed me to drive around for over a month without coverage. I absolutely do not recommend. I would.not ever knowingly hold a policy with a company that would be so cavalier with my policy and my coverage while happily taking my payments each month. No thanks. Never again."
"It started off well with them pricewise, but definitely had annoyances and lack of options within app, and even ability within company, so we just had to rationalize it still being worth it. They have however over the course of 2 years doubled the premium (no exaggeration) with newest renewal 25% more than last, and now asked we prove I own all vehicles including somehow proving nobody else in our household drives them (our only child is 13). We do own 5 vehicles with only two drivers, but 2 cars are explained pleasure vehicles and one is stored for a couple years at this point. They have no discount option to winterize or store vehicles, so essentially I have been overpaying them by keeping liability, and coincidentally after seeing if it was our stored Kia causing the 25% to increase, they now gave us 15 days to prove quite a few things to them. I wouldn’t really care since I’m dropping them anyhow, but now it changes my premium date closer to Christmas to switch sooner, which I don’t want, or go through that annoying process. Your experience may be different than mine, but apparently their reason for consistently raising rates is due to rate hikes in our area and parts pricing not specific to any vehicle we own."
