"In 2022, my child had tested for covid at the clinic. The insurance company refused to pay for the covid test due to an error in one letter in the child's name. Numerous calls to the company did not solve the problem with correcting the name. For 2 years, I called the Ambetter insurance company, the clinic where we did the test. It's 2024 now, I'm getting a bill from collectors for a covid test in 2022.The insurance company refuses to pay this bill due to the expiration date."
"Absolute trash. This is the worst health insurance I've ever heard of -- it's a miracle they're allowed to do business at all. Only sign up for one of their plans if you hate your life. The bottom line is, they make everything difficult. They have very few in-network providers, and you're supposed to pick providers based on their website info. Well, I called the office of the PCP the ambetter website auto-assigned to me, and the office secretary told me that doctor hadn't worked there in years. The only reliable way to make sure your doctor is in network is to call the doctor and verify, AND contact ambetter support and verify with them as well. I have so far had two claims erroneously denied by them. Just imagine getting a $1k bill in the mail for an IN-NETWORK OFFICE VISIT."
"A scam is best way to describe this. Not only did I pay MORE out of pocket for the one time I used insurance at a chiropractic visit, the only option to visit a dentist was an hour and a half drive and even then I was never contacted back by that doctor until a week after calling. They've now rolled my coverage that I did not want. Please reconsider them on this option for insurance."
"Pros and Cons of This Service: Pros: Cost-effective: This service is significantly cheaper than other insurance options, making it attractive for those who rarely require medical attention or prescriptions. Cons: Poor customer service: The customer service agents are incompetent and unhelpful. They couldn't provide basic information or resolve issues, causing long wait times and frustration. Questionable incentive program: The advertised reward program (150$ Visa card) appears to be misleading, as the card was never delivered despite fulfilling all requirements. Lack of transparency: No tracking number was provided for the reward card that was supposedly sent. Unreliable information: Customer service agents provided conflicting and inaccurate information, hindering problem-solving. Time-consuming: The customer had to spend significant time (hours) on hold and dealing with incompetent representatives to resolve a simple issue. Unprofessional conduct: Frequent transfers between agents and disconnects demonstrate unprofessionalism and disregard for the customer's time. Lack of trust: The negative experience with customer service raises concerns about the company's reliability and ability to handle real medical issues. Overall: While this service offers a lower cost, its significant drawbacks, particularly the abysmal customer service and questionable incentive program, make it an unreliable and frustrating option."
"This insurance is horrible. Nothing but frustration. They don't update physicians, specialists or cannot find one in my area. They will not approve refill until the last day previous refills ends. It sucks because dr told me if my blood pressure is too high take another pill. When I took another pill I was left without pills because this insurace counts exactly days of your refill. The worse insurance on globe, looking forward to change it."
