"Took my wife and daughter to this place for lunch. Wife ordered Birria Tacos highly recommended, and they were good until she bit into one, and it had a tooth in it. My wife told the owner and showed her, and she acted like she didn't know what it was. Took it back into the kitchen,to the staff and she came and told us that they said it didn't come from here, so basically blaming my wife, thinking she brought it when we straight told her my wife bit into the taco and pulled it out of it of the taco. Be careful and check your food thank the lord she takes small bites and bit into it."
"This isn't your typical sit down mexican restaurant where they have table service. It's more like a walk up taco stand but indoors. They do bring your food to you once you order but anything else such as getting more napkins and another drink, you have to do yourself. Also, you have to buy each drink separately. No refills in a cup as we're used to. As for the food. This was the saddest experience I've had at a Mexican restaurant. None of the food had any flavor outside of its own profile. Like the casa-birria I ordered. The only flavors were the meat and the fried corn tortilla. The cheese wasn't present and neither were the cilantro and onions. The consume that came with it just tasted like broth. Nothing had any stand out spice or depth. I'm a huge fan of Mexican restaurant salsa and love trying each rendition at whichever new place I try but the salsa here was very ketchup-y tasting. No presence of cilantro which is a huge plus for me. I also ordered a tamale and even that just had the basic meat and corn flavors. Nothing all together outstanding. I'm disappointed because I had hoped, since this was close to my house, that I'd found a new spot but honestly... there are better places in Pensacola for flavorful Mexican food. The family running the place seemed very nice but this gringo loves more zing and pep in her Mexican. (As an aside, I came in to get away from the heat but the place seemed just about as warm as it was outside. May be because of the all windowed front. Didn't seem the A/c was on.)"
"Homemade and delicious! We got the Quesabirria and soft steak tacos, scrumptious even after being in a takeout box for 10 minutes. Boxes were packed carefully and included hot sauces and limes, large bag of chips, that are crunchy and great all alone, to go with the salsa. I'll be here once a week at least!"
"MUST GO HERE FOR AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD!!! My friend told me about this place and I just had to give it a try! First, the environment is so clean and inviting. It used to be an old Chinese restaurant, but they completely transformed it. If you are dining in, they give you fresh fried, crispy chips and salsa. I got the three Birria tacos and a pork tamale. It was AMAZING!!!! Don’t forget to get a horchata drink! I can’t wait to come back for more!!"
"This is the new brick & mortar restaurant from the same team that runs the popular Los Panchos food truck in Pace. There's a reason why that food truck is so highly rated: owner Rosalinda Sowell, who grew up in Mexico City, has done a commendable job of developing a street food menu that's a clear step up from the usual Mexican fare. I ordered a Quesabirria plate, and it was absolutely delicious. The tender beef was perfectly seasoned without being oversalted; the consommé was flavorful without being greasy; the Oaxaca cheese was mellow and moist; and the tortillas were crisped just right. Moreover, Rosalinda and her daughter Brianna gave everyone who entered the restaurant a warm welcome and made sure we were all happy with our meals. I can't wait to go back... and I'll surely bring along friends and family to share the experience of an amazing, family-cooked meal at Los Panchos."
