Inspired by the words of Stewart Udall, our trails are truly “irresistible and indispensable.”
Since 2017, our dedicated Trails Committee has invested over 1,000 volunteer hours to create a sustainable and welcoming hiking experience on Hartwick's main campus. Spanning approximately eight miles, our interconnected loops offer a variety of unique hiking experiences. Whether you're captivated by the breathtaking views from Table Rock's majestic stone slabs or enchanted by the rolling hills of the forest, beauty awaits at every turn.
Before embarking on your adventure, we kindly ask you to familiarize yourself with important trail information. As proud partners of Leave No Trace, we are committed to educating our community about the 7 Leave No Trace Principles. Please remember to adhere to these guidelines: Carry In-Carry Out, keep dogs on a leash, stay on designated trails, park in specified areas, and refrain from altering or creating new trails.
To ensure the continued maintenance and enhancement of our trail system, we encourage you to register your visit. Registering helps us monitor trail usage and prioritize maintenance needs. Rest assured, your information will be kept confidential and used solely by the trails committee and campus safety. You can conveniently register your visit at the trailhead kiosk.
Operated by the Hartwick College Trails Committee, our mission is to maintain and promote the trails of Hartwick College Main Campus with a focus on stewardship and wellness. Our dedicated team of Hartwick staff and students is passionate about providing a safe and enjoyable hiking experience for all.

"What an amazing trail. It has some long up and down stretches that change elevation quite a bit, but none are super steep. The trails are well marked. The view is really fabulous. Take your time, stop to catch your breath if need be, and use bug spray if needed. Please like this review if you find it helpful."
