"We had to relocate to WNY from SC and were put in touch with Colleen by a realtor friend. Colleen talked with us over the phone first and asked us some questions. We had no familiarity with the area at all so Colleen walked us through the different towns and areas near my wife’s work and the pros and cons of each. From the beginning, it was clear that Colleen was extremely knowledgeable about the area, prices, taxes, school districts and amenities. Colleen immediately created an online portal for us that would send us notifications of houses that fit our financial and other needs. She said she could offer video tours of houses but that it would be best if we could visit and see some in person. My wife and I arranged some time away from work and, honestly we did not give Colleen a lot of advance warning before we planned to visit (maybe a week’s advance notice), but nevertheless, Colleen cleared her schedule and spent her entire weekend with us. She built an itinerary of homes for us to look at and chose them strategically so that she could teach us about houses since we indicated we knew nothing. Colleen taught us so much about different kinds of roofs, plumbing, electrical panels, house styles, etc. I knew that even if we didn’t find our house during this weekend, Colleen was laying a foundation of knowledge that would make it easier for us to understand what we were seeing if we had to do video tours in the future. In two days, we looked at 14 houses! Not only that, but Colleen would drive and have us follow her from house to house and instead of taking the interstate, chose scenic routes so she could point out amenities. She learned during the weekend that we were vegetarians and so she drove us past vegetarian restaurants and stores. She learned that our hobby was board games and she drove us past game stores and even offered to introduce us to a friend of hers who plays games. She took us to a variety of parks and even gave us a list of things to check out at night like local grocery stores. Colleen was not just helping us find a house, she was helping us find a community to call home. At the end of the weekend, we sat down at a local donut shop and talked through the 14 houses, ranking them. We decided there were four we would be willing to make offers on. Colleen devised a plan based on when offers were due and was very savvy in terms of prices and how to build a competitive offer without going overboard. My wife and I returned to South Carolina wondering if we could possibly win any of our offers in this housing climate. A couple of days later, we got a call from Colleen and she let us know that our very first offer had been accepted! We were ecstatic. Even though the house was found, Colleen continued to be a guiding light through the process, recommending a local lender and attorney (who both turned out to be amazing as well) and continued to touch base with us and help us along the process as it continued. Even right up to closing, Colleen helped me work through some hiccups and was always helpful. Colleen never made us feel dumb or like we were inconveniencing her. She always had time for us, or rather, I should say, she always HAS time, because even now, having lived in our home for a few weeks, Colleen continues to answer questions I have about local amenities, house maintenance, and any other off the wall questions I can throw at her. It is immensely clear how much Colleen cares about her clients. She even gifted my wife and I tickets to a local hockey game that she was unable to use. Colleen has told us that as long as we’re in New York state, she will continue to be there for us, and I genuinely believe her. The fact that from the moment we first contacted Colleen to the day we closed on our house was only about two and a half months is astounding, and Colleen’s continued dedication to service even long after closing is over is humbling.
