"They’ve automated their system so you talk to someone remote, who sends messages to the practitioners. They can’t contact them directly. You can’t connect to the actual office or speak to anyone who is onsite. They gave me an extension number that didn’t go anywhere. It was absolutely ridiculous. I had an urgent request and needed to get in contact with the office and couldn’t reach anyone aside from the operator. I have a follow up appointment I need to go to, but after that, I’m switching providers based solely on how hard this process was."

"Do not go here. I had a referral that clearly stated what I needed and I sent it in when I made my appointment. I went for my appointment and Dr. Rachel Villanueva saw me and said that they couldn't do that there because the tech they needed wasn't in that day. This should have been communicated when I made my appointment, not by the time I showed up and had had my vitals taken and was undressed. Not only that, but her bedside manner was terrible and she talked to me in a rude way as if somehow this was my fault. When she first came in to see me, after I had been seen by the nurse who asked me to undress and get on the table, she was angry at me for being undressed despite the nurse explicitly telling me to do that. All in all it is a poorly run facility and Dr. Villanueva in particular is rude, unprofessional, and someone to stay away from."

"Do not make an appointment with Dr. Rachel Villaneuva. The only reason I'm not giving this review a 1 star is because I've been a patient at Maiden Lane for several years, and all the other doctors and nurses I've encountered here are wonderful. I made an appointment with Dr. V today because my regular doctor wasn't available, and figured everyone else I've encountered at Maiden Lane have been wonderful, Dr. V would be great too. I was very wrong. I shared with her some of my fears of an upcoming procedure and a plan that I'd discussed with another doctor on how to approach it, and Dr. V completely dismissed me, implied that I was dramatically overblowing my anxiety about the procedure, despite the fact that I had consulted with another doctor at Maiden Lane about this just a few months ago. Dr. V continued to press that in her 20+ years of experience, she has never had any patient complain about pain related to this procedure, and at one point started shouting at me and slamming her hands on the desk telling me that this approach I'd planned WITH ANOTHER DOCTOR was completely unnecessary and overblown. She was rude, and frankly just straight up mean. Not only did she make me feel uncomfortable, but I felt insulted, belittled and completely dismissed. I want to emphasize that everyone else at Maiden Lane Medical have been wonderful - the staff at the front desk, the nurses who take my vitals, the nurse practitioners who I've visited along the way, and my regular gyno have all been incredible. I think we can all agree that getting an annual pap isn't our favorite thing to do, but the people here have a nice sense of humor and empathy that make it not feel horrible. There's a reason I've come back to Maiden Lane after 3+ years, but it is safe to say that I will avoid Dr. V as if my life depended on it."

"Love this office and staff. I never look forward to annual visits but I still feel comfortable here because the providers are very genuine and kind and make me feel comfortable. Highly recommend Dr. Gelman and nurse practitioner Sarah, I’ve had the pleasure of seeing both of them and they’re both gentle and take their time to answer all your questions. The front desk staff is also speedy and made sure to make me aware that I would be seeing the NP since the doctor was out of the office. If you need a new GYN, go here for thorough and gentle care and a good experience every time."
