"I scheduled my annual physical at 14th Street Medical Arts but, unfortunately, left without ever seeing my doctor. After waiting for an hour, a staff member—possibly a nurse or doctor—began calling out for a patient with the last name 'Wong' in the hallway. When she received no response, she approached me and asked for my last name, despite my having already indicated that I wasn’t her patient. Even though our last names were different, she insisted on asking for my first name. When she finally accepted that I wasn’t the patient she was looking for, she found her patient at the reception desk. What made the situation even more uncomfortable was her attempt to justify her mistake by returning to me and ignorantly proclaiming, 'You guys look so alike, just look at her!' The only similarity between us was that we were both Asian women. I told her directly that we were not the same, but instead of apologizing, she laughed. This was an extremely uncomfortable and unpleasant experience, and I immediately canceled my appointment because I didn't want to risk another interaction with her. I will not be returning. On a positive note, the reception staff were very helpful and empathetic when I shared my experience. I can’t imagine what it must be like for them to work with such an ignorant colleague on a daily basis."
"The staff at this location are awesome at the front desk! They took care of me with kindness and respect!!!! The physical therapy staff not so attentive. For my 1st PT appointment, Dean left me alone to do every exercise without assistance. She never considered how hard it was for me to actually get up again after heel surgery. She left to chit chat with her colleagues. She said, "call me when ur done my name is Dean". This was my experience."
"I enjoy meeting my new doctor. She was very respectful to me. I felt very comfortable with her. She’s looking into my health even deeper and I appreciate that Very much . my doctor my new doctor seems like she will help me get my body back in shape without pain. I had a little difficult today. She made me feel so very comfortable kindness towards me she had respect on how I was feeling and what I was passing through she gave me her full attention I am grateful, that there are people that still out there each other I really admire her"
"Doctors are generally okay. They answer questions, but the visit is overall rushed. However, the policy of the offices @ medical arts alone are a bit unfair. You will be charged $50 for a canceled or rescheduled appointment even hours before the time you are to be seen. I totally understand a cancel appointment the day of, but a rescheduled appointment should be free seeing that life happens and things come up. I found myself twice having to deal with either paying a $50 fee or leaving new important obligation in order to make my appointment. It’s ironic because this was never the case last year. It’s really giving money hungry. Additionally, there are a pool or staff up front and no one seems to be helpful! I just might have to switch where I see my doctor. This place has gone down so much since 2020!"
"First, when I called, the receptionist was very rude. She was not open to helping me or answering my questions. The first appointment we made was a waste of time because no one told us that we needed proof of vaccines. Despite me asking over the phone what I needed to bring, they didn't want to see us since the doctor we chose wasn't our primary care physician. Usually, wherever we go, they are willing to help us change it and work with our insurance. They simply said, "No, we cannot accept you," and wanted us to go back. I had to call and work with our insurance to change it. Secondly, when I called again, the receptionist was refusing to help me with a simple question about getting the Hepatitis B vaccine. Someone in the hospital should know the answer since they work there. She was very rude and avoided answering my question. Thirdly, when I called to schedule an appointment, I didn't have any other choice. As always, I waited for the phone call, but my daughter fell and started crying. I asked them to give me a second since she just wanted to be picked up. However, they hung up the phone without showing any empathy. They didn't wait for even a minute, despite me waiting for that phone call for over 10 minutes. I called back to report this because all my phone calls with the receptionists were awful. They don't have any manners or respect for clients. A guy named Anthony kept putting me on hold, knowing that I didn't have the time to wait that long. This is by far the worst hospital I have dealt with in NYC."
