"i am a 61 year old woman. On 9/28/2023 i had multi level spinal fusion surgery at HSS. Dr.Andrew Sama is my Surgeon. I am a happy, successful and active person. When i reflect back on significant life events, they've all involved a great mentor, coach and the strength of an excellent team, After the age of 50, I completed 2 full distance Ironman races, many marathons and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. Training for an endurance sport is not without pain. Winning the race, achieving my goal was worth months of dedication and the suffering that went with it.
