"my primary doctor dr cha, was on holiday and dr. rios was covering for her. i was set to have spinal surgery and need medical clearance from my primary. he cancelled a hour before. everything else was done in preparation for my surgery the next day to relieve the agony i was in. But they would not do it without a medical clearance from my primary doctor. by cancelling me the hour before i was to see him put my whole surgery into jeapordy . this action by dr. rios was about to get my entire surgery cancelled. i was beyond upset. he had not arranged for someone else to cover him another doctor in the office took pity on me and gave me the clearance. i just returned from surgery and i think this was totally unacceptable to dump me and leave me in pain."
"Dr. Rios is the antithesis of the dedicated care that you would expect from a medical professional. In the several years I saw him he was unfailingly rude, dismissive, and condescending. He has a stern, authoritarian demeanor and values nothing higher than complete obedience - if you disagree with him you get scolded, lectured, even shouted at. If you like to have any say in your medical care, avoid this guy."
"Made an appointment a month in advance . Arrived 10 minutes late because I was on crutches with a broken ankle . Dr Rios refused to see me because I was late. Guess I'm just a number not a person . Worst experience ever . Didn't think doctors were that callous . Mt Sinai just lost my business ."
"Excellent Physician, Extremely informed, knowledgeable and compassionate...I lost my specific health insurance coverage and as a result could no longer see him as my primary physician, However I was able to maintain contact with him through the Mount Sinai email and he made himself available for advice on finding an alternate physician that accepted my new health insurance plan....If you decide to go to him for medical services you will not be disappointed and he will not treat you like just another number."
