"If you are in any type of medical emergency don't not let them take you or anyone else here, this is not a safe medical practice. You would be safer out side on the street with public witness. I have a recordings of the staff assaulting verbally and physically myself and someone else and they are racist. They false reported me to ACS after breaking my daughter's shoulder and leaving me with a permanent organ damage during a C-section that I was forced to have there. I was trying to climb off the bed with my abdomen still cut open and my organs hanging out to get my daughter while she was screaming after they took her out of me they were very very disrespectful and have no consideration for any type of medical emergency medical needs there's there's no medical professional in the building."
"I took my son to the ER earlier who suffers from psychosis and who told the doctors he wanted to unlive himself. The doctor's released him 3 hrs later with the same thoughts, no 24hr hold are anything. They they didn't contact me to let me know he was being discharged and I'm his medical proxy. This hospital has gotten worst then back in the days the new floor and walls is just for show so DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONES TO THIS HOSPITAL FOR NOTHING IF YOU LOVE THEM AND WABT THEN TO LIVE. SOME OF DOCTORS THERE REALLY DONT CARE ABOUT PATIENTS LIFE AND I SEEN THAT TODAY"
"On 03/30/2024 I had to run to Harlem Hospital Emergency dept. The doctors and nurses and other medical staff that assisted me were extremely professional and supportive. I had a great experience on the medical side. However, between 1am and 3:45am I had dozed off due to all the pain medication that was given to me. The doctor comes in the room to tell me what they think is causing me the pain, when I realize my purse was missing off the hospital bed I was laying in. Yes! Someone stole my purse while I was sleep, from the bed I was on. I immediately told the doctors/nurses assisting me, they called over “hospital police/security” and I wrote my report. Inside of my purse, I had my wallet with my driver’s license, and every credit/debit card you can think of. I had $200 cash and other documents, as well as my house keys and Apple Airpods. My shirt was inside of my bag as well, I had to leave the hospital in hospital gowns, thank God I had a jacket to cover myself up, since I was shirtless. What bothers me the most is the lack of empathy from the hospital police/security. What would’ve happened if the person who took my purse, went into the room I was in and stabbed me, or tried to hurt me in other ways? Where is the security at Harlem Hospital Emergency Department?? Patients are prone to being robbed out of their personal property and being put at harms away. So you mean to tell me we are not even safe on a hospital bed? This is a damn shame Harlem Hospital! There is no sense of security. Before this incident happened to me there was a man which appeared to be homeless/mentally ill, roaming the hallways and banging his head against the walls. Security/police did not intervene. You are not safe in Harlem Hospital Emergency Department, please do not go to their ER. They also need to do better with their hygiene, there were blood stains on the floor and on medical equipment. I literally got home and took my pants and socks off and threw them in the garbage! So disgusting!!"
"*UPDATE: I posted this review on Sunday. It is now Thursday. My son been admitted to Mount Sinai ever since Sunday night. He is still in the hospital. He currently has three viruses so that’s what’s causing the vomiting and diarrhea. he’s been on fluids for days now to stop and prevent the dehydration. now as you can see the doctor in Harlem hospital ED was definitely wrong With His diagnosis. It honestly seems like he was just trying to Hurry up and get rid of us. That’s exactly what it seems like. when I came in He didn’t even check him. He just assumed that the baby had to reflex and said his overfeeding which he is not. maybe before cracking jokes the next time a parent bring their infants to the ED make sure you’re actually right with your diagnosis. Make sure you are right. read below for the review. I took my son to harlem hospital ER (Pediatrics) because he is having severe diarrhea and is vomiting. I was seen by DR. A shore and DR. K Bang. One of the doctors is a male and the other one is a female ( Resident). This review is for the male doctor . 1. He was talking to me like I don’t know what i’m doing . 2. His diagnosis was WRONG. He just assumed that my baby is over feeding and he isn’t. My baby is not over feeding . My baby is getting worst that day so the next day i decided to go to mount sinai ER. The mount sinai doctor diagnosis was that it’s a virus (gastroenteritis) which cause vomiting and diarrhea and says it’s contagious. This doctor was right because since i care for my baby , i then started getting sick and started vomiting 3. What really got to me is hearing him making jokes about parents feeding their babies chicken nuggets . My baby hasn’t even tried chicken nuggets( the other staffs sitting on the computers are laughing ). He was trying to be funny and was being sarcastic. I definitely do not appreciate his behavior . On my way out i did go ahead and said “Alright thank you “ . I did not get not one response . Worst ER ever been in"
"Stay Far Away! My mom thought she had a stomach virus but she began having stomach pains that were increasing with severity so we had to call 911. Harlem Hospital was the closest so that’s where they took her. The check in was speedy and they immediately took her through triage. My mother’s pain level was so high they had to give her morphine just to examine her. The morphine put her in a sedated state while they ordered some tests. The nurse (She wears the Star Wars clogs) in charge of my mom seemed nice and compassionate at first. As the wait for the testing grew longer the morphine was starting to wear off. When I initially told the nurse the pain was returning she said ok as if she would be in soon. I waited over 15 minutes before I asked her again. She said yes, she knew and she’d be with me shortly. The third time I asked she said the doctor wanted my mom to have the test first and I said I understood that but if the test wasn’t happening soon they couldn’t just leave my mom in pain. She said she would see how many people were ahead but at this point she was speaking with an attitude and was unbothered by my concern for my mom. I waited another 15 minutes before an LPN named Jenny came in to check on us. When I asked her about my mom’s test and her pain meds she stated sympathetically that the head nurse said we weren’t getting any meds. I became very upset and confronted the nurse about what was going to be done for my mom. That’s when she said radiology was ready for her. But clearly they weren’t because my mom was gone a long time and she told me when she came back that they had her waiting in the hallway awhile before they did the cat scan. All without any pain meds. Jenny came in and I told her we needed meds ASAP because at this time my mom is crying and screaming in pain. The doctors came in and said they saw a blockage and she needed surgery. Then the head nurse came and said that's why they needed to wait to give meds, to make sure they weren’t causing more harm. BS, their triage had their share of homeless people and a few DHS agents there to get them out of the ER and into shelters. They probably thought my mom was another addict looking for a warm bed and a hit. The doctor needed to insert a drainage tube down my mom's throat into her stomach. The drainage didn’t work and rather than checking it they just left it while they continued to come back and forth to discuss the surgery they were planning in the next 8 hrs. So after nine hours in the ER we get to the surgical floor and the nurse comes and hands me a crumpled sheet of paper to fill out. It’s the surgical floor intake form. All the questions are basics that should have been noted during her ER registration and accompanied her upstairs. But nope, she came up with no records, not even orders to keep her sedated. I told them I needed the social worker as soon as they arrived because we were transferring out. The room had five beds in it and I can only imagine how difficult it must be to recover from anything with the constant interruption of quietness with five people in a room. The staff adamantly tried to dissuade us from leaving but we demanded to be transferred to Weill-Cornell Hospital where her PCP was. We waited all day and kept calling WC to inquire about her transfer and they kept saying it wasn’t approved yet. By 5PM we knew we’d have to get my mom down there on our own so we left AMA. And wouldn’t you know when we got to WC by cab they said Harlem Hospital had my mom’s case as non-emergent and that’s why she wasn’t a priority in insurance paying for a transfer!"
