"I have been going to the supermarket for a long time but today they lost a loyal customer. I went to the deli section and behind the counter there was a woman that I have never seen there before. She wasn't wearing their white apron and had no hair covering. I asked for some cold cuts and when she was almost done cutting my order I noticed that she was catching the slices with her bare hand! Disgusting! To make things more bizarre, the hand that was pushing the slicer had a glove on. I confronted her about it and she started arguing with me, still with one glove on, that she had her gloves on and to prove it to me she took out the other one from her pocket! LOL She continued to weighing and wrapping the cold cut, but I ask her to cut another portion, because I was not purchasing this one. She asked me what I want her to do with this one because she has already cut it and that her hands are cleaner than mine anyway! At this point I asked to speak with the manager or owner which she replied to, that she is the owner! What a shame! Instead of apologizing and making things right, she insulted me! Stay away! The owner obviously does not appreciate your business!"

"Fresh sausages and ham always available. You can find different pickled vegetables , syrups and all other food at this place. Wonderful assortment of candy, juices and many others. Friendly and knowledgeable service at the meat and cold cuts section ready to answer any questions."

"AS = love -- the staple supermarket has a brilliant lunch deli that serves freshly cooked Polish food for almost nothing. I almost don't want to write this review as I want this place to stay an unspoiled Greenpoint gem... but with abysmal fluorescent aesthetics and a warehouse exterior, I'm positive that the majority of people in the neighborhood have never even thought to give this place a chance. The staff inside are always lovely (note: those in the back + the butcher don't really speak English). You can find almost wholesale prices and almost everything you'd want, including fresh pickles, sauerkraut, and northern European imports like biscuits. This place is the real deal!"
