"I only go there if it's an emergency. Even though. It's closer to my house , my gym , my grocery store . I rather go out of my way for bigger purchases . I shop at the dollar general all the time . But if I need to buy like one thing only , and I don't have to time to travel then I go here . When I moved back to Astoria , I started coming here regularly. After like 2 weeks of coming there regularly they were staring at my money like it was counterfeit, never seen them do that to other customers . So I stopped coming, unless I don't have time to go to the the other dollar store , or if I am buying maybe one or two cheap items . And last time I went , I couldn't find what I want , they don't even say goodbye unless you buy something . You can tell they don't even like to say hello . I guess they don't know that I spend a lot of money in the other dollar store , because it's filled with with warm and friendly people . They seem to act like they don't want me there . Why would I spend money on people that don't like me for seemingly no reason. I give them more than one star because at least they allow me to come in . But way below average on friendliness, customer service , seem to have some prejudice tendencies against certain groups of people ( but maybe they're just naturally cold and rude to everyone) . So I would NOT recommend this place , I would suggest the dollar store about 5-10 minute walk away from here . There prices are around 1.25-1.35 for every item , AND everyone is NICE, if you purchase some thing or you do not , if you are black or if you are white . Everyone is nice to you regardless."
