"I had missed court a few times for two different speeding tickets! At the time I had just recently lost my mom dad and brother ! When I came into speak with the clerk she was more than helpful and kind ! I was able to handle everything right with her at the window and was givin a more then reasonable fine with no points! She also gave me more than enough time to come up with the money and allowed me to make payments ! We all make mistakes and sometimes procrastinate on handling them ! The understanding and kindness I was shown was unforgettable! I have been to traffic court only 4 times in my life but not always treated kindly! So I appreciate what you all do! At the end of the day you have a job to do but choosing to do it with kindness and respect is a choice and for that I respect the west senica court very much ! Even the office who pulled me over was more then kind givin the situation! Keep up the good work ! It’s not an easy job working in the courts or being an officer, showing up and doing it with kindness, respect and compassion isn’t easy either givin the world we live in ! So thank you ! Stay kind !"
"these people that work in that building don't know what there doing are unorganized? "there inconsiderate of anyone's else's time accept for there own"they do not know how to speak to people with respect?it is a waste tax payer dollars should spent more useful things in High schools like metal dectors and getting roads constructed that building should be shut down?"
"Car impounded for $800 when I was ordered by Lt.to park it there when I wanted to bring it next door where I lived. I was in an ambulance. 5 min later my car was impounded. Tried to sue west seneca but was never told I had to give them notice in addition to filing papers and fees. Courts were closed during this time. Covid 19. Impossible to give notice. Courts were locked. Low income. Car is only worth $600. Lost $800 due to a Lt. Who ordered my car to be parked in this spot and then had the tow truck impound it. I also was treated roughly and slammed into the ambulance by his officers and my neck was twisted as it was shoved down. Nightmare! to this day. This treatment does not help any condition. PTSD is a condition suffered by our military personnel and rough treatment does not help. With evictions from landlords happening shortly afterwards because of Police presence and ambulances. We are living in a community of many variety of issues. Getting help should not cause you to lose your apartment thru eviction."
"Made the mistake of trying to stop at a gas station which was busy went to exit the driveway . Pulled over and accused of avoiding traffic signal because according to the cop everyone does it there. Went to court for a misc violation and given an extremely high fine. Judge reduced more serious fines for cell phone use and speeding. I asked for more time to pay fine and told I would have to come back to court and start over but others before me they could have time to pay. Time is money and coming back wasn't an option so I had to pay the fine. Fines should be based on the violation not where you live not everyone has money in Amherst. No stars for you."
"I was given a ticket for a front headlight that was working 20 minutes prior when I left a friends. I explained to the officer that I had a spare bulb in the car and even showed him, and he clearly didn't care and wouldn't even let me finish. It was a Saturday night and I was given 24 hours to get it fixed. Since most places are closed Sunday, I had to spend my whole day trying to find a place to fix and sign the sheet he gave me. When I found a place willing to fit me in, the light was working. Regardless, he could have been a decent person and provided a warning, especially considering that the light had been working before I left, and I was unaware that it had stopped. Money before conscience I suppose."
