"I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Vietnam Consulate Office in New York City, and I must say, the experience was exceptional. I am incredibly grateful to Ms. Lien, Ms. Thuy, and Mr. Nam for their enormous help and dedication. From the moment I arrived, I felt a warm and welcoming atmosphere that reminded me of being back in Vietnam. The staff were not only professional but also incredibly kind and patient. They took the time to address all my questions and guided me through the entire process with ease. Ms. Lien’s efficiency, Ms. Thuy’s attentiveness, and Mr. Nam’s expertise made my visit seamless and stress-free. Their combined efforts ensured that all my documents were processed quickly and accurately. The office environment was clean, organized, and reflective of the rich culture of Vietnam, which added to the overall positive experience."
"Went here today to get some documents legalized and authenticated for use in Vietnam. I had a positive experience and was able to provide the documents back at the same time. Be sure to book an appoint first by emailing them. They responded in 2 business days as per the instructions on their website. Their response to you on your appointment schedule is basically the confirmation that you can show the people at the front desk when you arrive and they will let you up. The person who handled my documents was very nice and was able to inform me what my next steps are. Price varies depending on the service requested. They accepted credit card/debit card as a form of payment for my requested service. Finally, after walking around and grabbing lunch, I was able to pick up my documents. Hope this helps!"
"Applied for passport here in April of 2023 and still haven't received anything... I have been trying to get in contact with them for 3 months, but all I get is auto reply/asking for number and never hear back... feels hopeless. Also, I left voicemail messages to no avail.."
"I came to the Consulate in New York to renew my passport since it will expire. I booked the appointment via email and prepared all required documents as explained in great detail on the Consulate of NY official webpage. When you arrive in person at the United Nations Plaza, you could show your appointment email exchange and the receptionists will show you the way. The officer in the Consulate is attentive, helpful, and understanding. If you have any questions, you could ask. If you need to add any further documents, the officer will guide you. My new passport came within days. I saw many negative comments, yet my experience was very positive, and everything was conducted clearly and professionally. All my emails sent to the officers before coming were answered within 24-48 hours. The day I came was very near the holidays, yet as long as the Consulate stays open, the service is carried out as usual."
