"Process was easy and quick the second time I went.. make sure you have appointment before you go.. either to get ID or renew passport"
"Is anyone there to answer the phone? Please!!! Been calling for three weeks NOTHING. Perhaps you might have a new number please let us know. # PATRIOT"
"Why do we have a consulate if no one ever answer the phone. I requested an ID, did all the formalities it's been over a year and half. I checked my receipt with the DAF in Senegal and they told me that the ID has been completed since April of 2023. Today is June 3rd 2024 and I still haven't received my ID. What's wrong with our countrymen? I've called over the past year over a hundred times, no answer, it appears that this place is closed. Please fix this place! Why why why are we like this? I pray to GOD that the new regime will do something about this pathetic place."
"The worse thing in the world is being Senegalese ,the staff is so unwelcoming and unprofessional.Drove 9 hours to renew a passport, they telling you have to take an appointment online which i did and the website won't let you go through. The answer is basically we don't care you came from out of state we won't do it and the funny part is there is no line and nobody that renewing passport."
"I have had one of the worst experiences in my life with this embassy. I’ve arrived at 8:30am to renew my passport and I thought I would get it in less than a few hours as they told me over the phone, but it was so catastrophic. I don’t live in New York but in Virginia and I’ve spent 5 to 6 hours and so much money to get the embassy. I have never seen such disrespectful, arrogant and haughty personal, I mean they are just the reflect of Senegalese administration in Senegal. Until 2:30pm I still haven’t gotten my passport so I naturally asked them when I will get it but the guy dealing with passports started yelling at me and acted just I was his daughter. By the way, when Senegalese people will start acting as professionals and not familiar we will be much better. Despite the fact I am a young student I will never tolerate such a disrespectful behavior no matter who the person is. So I returned his bad behavior which he was certainly not expecting because this is not charity he’s giving me but a service he should provide as I paid for it and my government pays him with Senegalese money. Woken up at 1am, making all this trajectory and planning to return the same day home, I was very frustrated not only because they didn’t give me my passport but because of their disrespectful behavior. I had to book a hotel and get another ticket because they only gave it to me the following day which made me waste so much money and precious time. Until I leave the embassy they still didn’t apologize for this high lack of professionalism. Also, the embassy is not located in a very safe place, it is a very small place and I couldn’t even see the Senegalese flag inside which is very bad for an embassy. A homeless woman got unexpectedly in which reflects the lack of security. Overall I felt uncomfortable, unprotected and misunderstood in my own embassy. I wasn’t expecting empathy from them but a minimum of professionalism and respect no matter what my age is because I know they will never act like this with an American person. Anyway I hope all this personal will be replaced by professional ones and people who love their country and citizens and please guys don’t go to the embassy until you don’t plan anything else to do with your day in order to avoid disappointment."
