"I regret giving my business to Papa Bear stove and will never purchase anything from there again. Customer service was great initially but as soon as we spent over $6,000 with them it was a struggle to get order updates, and correct information. My purchase took over 6 months to complete and when my wood stove eventually came in Hunter said they need to “check to confirm the surround came in “. When I eventually picked up my woodstove, after Hunter confirmed my surround came in, I got home to realize they never gave me the surround. After calling and bringing this issue up, I was told by Hunter “I don’t see where that was ordered”. It then took about a week and two different scheduled dates for them to drop it off. Since getting my woodstove, I needed touchup paint and a new switch for the blower that we’re both covered under warranty. After being ghosted for a month regarding the touchup paint, I picked it up only to check the tracking number on the box and realize that it took a week to come in yet they never called to notify me. I sent Jim an email regarding the blower switch over a month ago and have yet to hear anything and have not gotten a reply to an email sent a week ago asking about its status. I highly recommend people shop elsewhere, I certainly wish I did."

"We are overall satisfied with the Purchase and install of our Napolean Gas fireplace. 1) It has taken some effort from us though , to be sure that All the prep & install instructions / specs were correct to have our opening constructed properly so the unit fit into the existing space. When the install occurred 2) That we needed to be sure that All the costs were included on the estimated & Final invoice. With today’s supply difficulties the needed Piping and Flanges needed to connect your stove are costly and have to be correct & needed to be verified and costs accurate. 3) Even with those details that needed to be followed up by us & the effort it took with Papa Bears to keep our costs accurate. I gave them a 5***** rating because of how well Jim, Hunter & Bryant (the installer )& his helper were cooperative and respectful to work with. That you may agree is very important and difficult to find in the current market place. 4) lastly they are a Small Business / retailer that you should Consider to purchase from & allow them to provide you with your Stove , Fireplace needs. The quality of the Stove and detailed install along with the final appearance and performance of the stove we enjoy & are pleased with. Mark v / CNY"

"I bought a Legacy Super Max coal stove in the spring, but couldn't have it delivered until I had my chimney relined and brought up to code. Jim and Hunter brought it right up when I was ready and placed it perfectly where it would line up with my Chimney flue. Jim answered all my questions and was available when I needed advice on starting it first time. I am extremely happy with the stove and the service will definitely do business in the future as I need"

"My son and daughter in law bought a coal stove here. They got the run around and we’re always trying to get them to actually get it in and running. First paying for it then begging to get it installed ..really…. Multiple trips and multiple weeks as they came with no supplies They were told to call and do their maintenance and warranty checks through them. So here we go again this year trying to get them to actually do the first year check and cleaning and was told they had to reschedule and it would be 2weeks before they could get them back in the schedule. Less than 24 hours before the time they set up my son called to make sure they were still coming and was told they had no idea.. I would not recommend them to anyone"

"I wish I could give these guys 10 stars! The owner Jim, and his son Hunter are really great guys. We ordered a spa that was delayed due to COVID (like all other spas right now), but they kept us in the loop during the process. When we got the spa, we were having issues getting it running right and they came out to our place 3 times to help (2 hour drive for them each way). In the end, they diagnosed the problem to our electrician wiring it up incorrectly. Sure enough, once that was fixed, the thing ran perfect. Here, they spent over 12 hours working on something that wasn't even their responsibility or fault and did they get upset? Nope. They shook our hands and were just happy to have us as customers. I was just amazed at how dedicated they were to supporting the products they sell. Would you get that at a big box store? I doubt it! They will be getting our business from now on, even though their shop is a 2 hour drive away!"
