Hertz Car Rental - Brooklyn Williamsburg HLE

"Atrocious service. I was waiting for over 2 hours in line and there were maybe 3 parties in front of me. On average, a customer took about an hour to service and I’m not even exaggerating. My rental car battery turned out to be faulty and triple A had to come replace it at my expense. Hertz took months to reimburse me after denying my requests repeatedly. Ultimately I had to contact triple A and the auto body repair shop to validate my claims. I handed over all the documentation of the battery replacement to the employees at this location, and was told I would be reimbursed, however when I reached out to Hertz corporate about it, they said they had no record of it which caused the delays."

"This location texted me 2 hours ahead of my reservation to tell me they didn't have any cars. They also didn't offer any sort of resolution. When I called to tell them I needed a car as I had plans for this car weeks out - they simply told me that they couldn't get me a car and I could wait with no guarantee of anything. They also couldn't tell me where I could go to get a car as they didn't have insight into inventory. When I told the person who I spoke with there that I was very much disappointed and asked how they could do this last minute - I was simply told to be a "mature adult". I would stay away from this location - and would likely not rent from a Hertz again due to this experience."

"Horrible experience ever !!!! Worst Hertz location they ever encounter !!! From the back fat girl “lovely or however you spell that name , the manager a African American guy who has the worse customer service ever along with another work that does not seem to be aware of her role as a “hertz agent” Not only they don’t have any cars at there location the wait time to even speak to anyone of them was over 2 hours to tell me they don’t have any cars and look away as if I was not standing there and then the manager spoke to me as if I was a child . Worse service ever I even contacted cooperate to report this location . They force you to even get extra insurance that is not required either . They all seem to be clueless on the rules and regulation of there policy. I have to return my car back to this location and I’m scared to go back due to me being so angry from the service I received I might do something I’ll regret. Again nobody go to this location you will see exactly what I am talking about. Manger needs to be fired !"

"After reading some of the negative reviews I was a bit hesitant to book with Hertz but the location was convenient and the price was good so I gave it a chance. I’m so glad I did. The pick up (which was early) was seamless, the woman who helped us was friendly and efficient. The car was clean, new and ready within minutes of our arrival. The drop off went great as well and we received an email immediately after drop off with no hidden fees. She did mention they were going to run out of cars later in the day so I recommend an early weekday pickup."

"I reserved my rental car two weeks in advance. When I arrived to pick up, another customer in line told me they had run out of cars. I waited 45 minutes to get a "just returned" car that had been cleaned, or so they told me, but it smelled of sweat of the previous driver. I still took it, I didn't have a choice. I then noticed the price was higher than what I'd been quoted online. When I mentioned this to the desk employee, he shrugged and said it was based on the car. I said that I'd reserved specific car, and he shrugged again, and said "it's a Hertz thing". Driving out of the garage I noticed the gas tank was completely empty. There were only two employees working and they could not handle the demand---they were doing the best they could but were so disorganized. The final straw that will make me never return to this location or to Hertz was this: a week after I returned the car, I received a bill for "tolls" that came in at $84. We did not drive across the U.S., just up to Amherst. There is NO WAY the drive cost $84 in tolls, sorry. I had received an email from Hertz asking for feedback. I wrote my honest response and checked the box YES that they could contact me about it. Never heard from them. Anyway, sharing this as a warning. Good luck!"
