James A.H. Tauberg DMD Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

"I went to Dr Tauberg for a dental implant. He explained to me that he did not accept my dental insurance, but that the insurance could pay directly to me what was covered. He then put into the paperwork for the insurance to pay him and took the insurance money after I paid him in full for the procedure. When I questioned Dr. Tauberg and his staff I was told I wouldn’t receive the money until I had the tooth restored, and that they would use the insurance money if anything were to go wrong with what I had already paid him in full for. This made no sense to me considering, one, he told me he does not accept my insurance, and two, if I already had paid in full, why would I be responsible for any mistakes made on his part? When questioned in person, he got angry and defensive, spoke over me, and started yelling at me. He then lied and said it was MetLife, who paid him by mistake and they always make mistakes which is why he does not accept their insurance. Then contradicted himself and said well, you initialed the paperwork that said to pay me. Never once was this disclosed to me and I was very specific about me and me only receiving the funds back from the insurance company. So not only did I call his office multiple times checking on where the money was, but I was lied to multiple times and told they had no idea where the funds were. I finally contacted the insurance and was told the truth. They were sent paperwork to pay the doctor directly. This is complete fraud. Now the implant has failed and he’s blaming the dentist who restored the tooth saying it was over loaded and that I was required to come back to him after getting the restoral. Never once had he informed me to come back and see him. Now he refuses to fix the implant and wants to charge me again for work that was already paid for. I’m assuming he does this a lot with his patients, claiming not to accept their insurance just to keep the money for himself in the end. Downright criminal. He needs stopped."

He and his staff are attentive, caring, and the whole appointment was pretty quick - especially for getting squeezed in for an emergency. I will definitely recommend him to friends and family. "My first, and hopefully only experience, with an oral surgeon was with Dr. Tauberg's office earlier this month, and everyone in the office, from the front desk manager all the way up to the doctor himself, is incredibly easy and pleasant to deal with. From taking x-rays to the actual procedure itself, he walked me through every step of the process, explaining exactly what to expect, even taking the time to get to know me a little bit during the process. I always felt like I was a priority to him. The evening I had my procedure done, I was shocked to receive a personal phone call from him to check on how I had been doing since that morning's extraction. If I should require any further oral surgery, I know who I'm calling!"

"Had my wisdom teeth out...excellent oral surgeon. Very detailed and comforting...explained whole process with pros and cons, options, etc. Did surgery right there in his office. His staff is on top of it...each visit, I got a call reminder. As a military member, they navigated Tri-Care extremely well, which I am very thankful for. It is week two after the surgery and I already feel semi-normal, but this of course varies person to person. Can't recommend him and his staff highly enough."
