"Currently in the hospital. My daughter is having surgery. Every time we are here the cafeteria gets worse and worse. Today I was forced to scan my own items. The people that work down there are the most ignorant people I’ve ever met. That kitchen is filthy as well. Last night we went down for dinner and they were all on their phones. Sad it’s our only options. Disgusted to have to go there. They should be nice and helpful seeing we’re the ones with children in the hospital."
"My son has been going for the past 9 years, he has seen just about all the neurosurgeons and each one of them have overlooked very important things on every single MRI that have been clearly noted time after time....leading to more medical issues for him now, not even 10years old and he is going deaf due to their lack of caring and paying attention and taking the time to actually go over results. Most things I found on my own by reading the MRI results and he is now getting he proper care elsewhere. I advise anyone giing to neurosurgeons there to please review MRI results yourself as Pittsburgh is known to overlook conditions and leave your child with more health problems in the end instead of helping your child!! We now go to Akron Ohio for all his needs especially since he was diagnosed with skin cancer....Definitely will not be going back to Pittsburgh for anything...ever again!! Would have gaven a negative 10000 if i could have on this review."
"This is one of the best hospitals around. Great service for the kids. I’ve never heard of anyone being mistreated here. Comforted my family through a possibly life altering compound fracture in the forearm. The only complaint you can make about this hospital is the long wait times. I’ve heard horror stories of 5-6 hour wait times. We’ve walked through the hospital after being discharged and seen packed waiting rooms at 2-3 AM. In every other area this hospital excels. It truly shows how Pittsburgh excels in the medical industry. I can honestly say, I’ve never trusted a surgeon more than here. When paired with expertise of the variety of specialists, this hospital truly is one of the best in its class."
"this rating goes out to the weekend staff at this hospital. my girlfriend was just in the hospital for a week and was discharged yesterday. she is currently recovering from blood clots in her lungs and now has covid on top of that. she said they tested for covid yesterday and it came back negative, she also told me that the nurse taking the swab didnt swab her correctly which is probably why she tested negative. shes been sick with what we thought was a cold since the day before and they had no explanation. the doctor in hematology was not being very vocal about what was going on and rushed to discharge her. she said the staff during the week were amazing but the weekend staff were a mess. they also were mis sizing her doses of meds which doesn’t help. they also almost sent her home with absolutely no pain medication bit were able to get her enough for a week. this is a great hospital but the staff during the weekend is absolute trash."
"Children's was pretty good to us during our stay and most importantly helped my daughter get back on her feet. Was not 100% of getting discharged but seemed to work out. There really needs to be small refrigerators/freezers in each over night room to eliminate any issues. The "PARENT" kitchen did not have a working ice/water machine which was extremely frustrating. If you are staying at Children's over night or longer definitely look into the restaurants and stores nearby. Aldis is about a 20min walk shorter if you have a bike or electric scooter. The cafeteria is a hit or miss. Extremely rude cafeteria workers hard to deal with sometimes. I highly suggest going to one of the local restaurants. There is multiple grocery stores as well."
