"Very disrespectful behavior of the reception behind the desk. I asked a few question about my bill and he acted like leave this place asap. I feel so disrespected."
"The doctors are great! If you can through the receptionists and schedulers. I’m currently in the waiting room for a 8:30am procedure - a procedure I’ve waited 2 months for, and they’ve botched the schedule twice already (I took a day off work to come in just for them to tell me they messed up). So they told me to arrive at 7:30am, and I arrived at 7:20. It is now 8am and they haven’t checked me in yet. The first receptionist showed up at 7:45. Now they’re telling me I have to prepay for the surgery, but I don’t have my HSA card on me because typically you don’t pay a medical bill upfront. They sent me 2 pre-surgery emails and called me to prep me but never mentioned payment. So it is 20 mins until my surgery, I’m still not prepped for it and the lady upfront said she needed to talk to the billing before she lets me in. Of course she’s not doing so because 10 other people are checking in and she’s the only person at the desk. There doesn’t seem to be much urgency to raise my problem to anyone. This is an absolutely horrendous experience."
"Beware of misleading and surprise fees when it comes time for IVF. After waiting nearly 6 months after all the testing, one insanely rude doctor and multiple different appointments outside of NYU facilities (they literally do nothing and outsource everything). Egg retrieval done at NYU, bloodwork done at NYU, anesthesia is outsourced and out of network for all patients but they tell you months beforehand it’s covered by insurance and then hit you with a surprise $1,080 charge knowing they were using out of network, embryo testing done out of network and refuse to tell you the lab fees associated with this secret lab, allow you to choose how many embryos you want tested but ask you to prepay for 10 at $4,600 even if you choose less than 10. So what is my $4,600 for if NYU isn’t testing the embryos themselves? Tells you insurance covers genetic testing but they don’t so that $480. Which by the way, if I ended up pregnant on my own none of this testing would be done so I should have the option to refuse to test and save myself 6k. NYU does nothing in their own facilities and is not transparent with pricing. And Blanca from billing who decided she was having a bad day and called me for 2 seconds to say insurance won’t cover embryo testing and then hang up and not ask if I had questions about pricing etc should be spoken to about her etiquette. Find a facility who does everything in house."
"I do not normally write reviews, but this one feels important to share as I recently went through my second of two egg retrievals with NYU Fertility. After a moderately successful—but not sufficient—first retrieval, I was encouraged by my doctor to pursue a second, as she was “confident we could achieve better results.” I was put on a more aggressive protocol, but the preliminary stages of the treatment plan were mismanaged and the results of the second round were drastically worse—on the order of about 50%. I am now being encouraged to undergo a third round, but am confused, disheartened, and disappointed by this experience, and have little confidence that the doctor and clinic are carefully managing and personalizing care plans to achieve the best results."
"Dr Blakemore is amazing. Nurses as well as assistants, coordinators - needs some help. It is extremely hard to get an appointment right. Many times they will mess up your appointment and it is so hard to get people on the phone."
