"Literally the best and changed my life!"
"I haven’t been to an establishment with better staff than this place. Everyone takes great care of you and you walk out with confidence. They keep me updated every step of the way, which I highly appreciate. I know I’m in good hands. Sucks to see they only have a 3.6 rating, they deserve a 10 star button."
"This is my 3rd stop in my UC life experience.. my past drs became hard to get in touch with or took a unreasonable amount of time to change treatment that would better aid me in my UC symptoms. A friend referred me to NYU and I was lucky enough to get a appt with Dr. Chang. She although not my dr from the very beginning of my UC diagnosis, listened to my entire history and understood that I was in a bad place. I was given treatment and care with post-haste. She understood I was suffering and needed help. Not only is she helping me treat my symptoms, her goal is full remission and eventually find a more permanent treatment/solution that does not require medication and something I can be comfortable with. I beg anybody that is at brick wall or not happy with their Dr. Please come here the people are nice , the drs give you no rush information, and the communication is very open. I only wish I was a patient here 5 years ago."
"Drs. Chang (GI care) and Gerson (psychology) provide excellent care for IBD patients. Dropping one star for now for the IBD Center's frequent billing issues. For even a routine visit, expect one bill for physician services and another for hospital services (since this is billed as part of Tisch hospital). It's unreasonably pricey even with insurance, so you'll probably need to contact the NYU billing team once you receive the bill(s) to handle it. Hopefully these billing issues will be properly resolved soon."
"My experience here was pretty unsatisfactory. I arrived, was asked to pay $900. I knew that wasn’t correct so proceeded to argue with the front desk for 20 minutes. They called billing and insurance and assured me after all the back and forth that i was correct and only owed a copay of $40. I paid. Then i went in, the staff did not upload any of files, records, colonoscopies etc that were needed to have a proper visit. I called several times to make sure they had those records before the appointment. And they Promised they did. Then i arrive and “oops it wasn’t uploaded to your profile”. I had a ten minute conversation with the doctor who had no files to review(i have 15 years of chronic illness records of which none he had in front of him), no blood drawn, no standard gastroenterology examination, and i left. I asked the front desk again that they were positive my finances were settled and they said yes. I am then days later slapped with a $400 bill for apparent “hospital services”. They keep telling me it’s separate from the doctor but why am i paying something separate from my visit with the doctor, doesn’t even make sense. Mind you i have had surgery, coloscopies, mri, scans, all sorts of things done as a chronically ill person and this visit included none of that. But this office apparently without informing new patients slaps you with a charge for hospital services. Of which i had nothing done. I have argued it, asked for an explanation and am getting met with nothing helpful and that I owed the money no matter what. I’m truly disgusted. For a place that deals with very sick patients to be gauging patients money for having a 10 minute conversation with a doctor they never even met before and the staff lying to me about what i owe i cannot soundly recommend this place to patients. Dr Gerson, the therapist is wonderful that’s about all i can say of my experience thus far."
