We provide a detailed approach to diagnosing and treating a wide array of conditions in both adults and children, supported by extensive support services to assist you before, during, and after your visit.
At NYU Langone’s Clinical Genetic Services, we focus on delivering individualized evaluations and genetic counseling. Our clinical services encompass complete genetic assessments, aiming to provide you with information that reduces uncertainty and empowers you to make the most beneficial healthcare decisions. We respect your cultural background and personal experiences, offering specific medical care recommendations while encouraging you to make choices that are right for you.
Our team, which includes highly experienced clinical geneticists and genetic counselors, utilizes a collaborative approach, consulting with each other and with you to make informed decisions. During a genetic evaluation, you will meet with a medical geneticist or genetic counselor, or both, to gather a comprehensive medical and family history, conduct a physical examination if necessary, and discuss your genetic testing options.
When evaluating children for genetic conditions, we consider parents as integral members of the healthcare team, valuing their insights and discussing how testing or treatment options may influence future family decisions. Our services for children are provided through the Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone, ensuring that our young patients receive the best possible care.
As new genetic tests and treatments become available, our services continue to expand. We ensure you understand the scientific details of your genetic evaluation, enabling you to be a fully informed participant in your healthcare and that of your child. Our collaborative team creates customized treatment plans, and our clinical geneticists are certified by the American Board of Genetics and Genomics.
We cater to children with conditions ranging from minor illnesses to complex, serious conditions, providing outpatient care for musculoskeletal and neurological issues. Our approach combines advanced medical treatments with psychosocial and emotional support for young patients and their families. Our multidisciplinary team includes experts such as cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, nephrologists, gastroenterologists, orthopedic oncologists, and others.
Our research aims to understand cancer at the molecular level to reduce risk and improve treatments. We also offer complete diagnosis and treatment plans for inherited cardiovascular conditions and specialize in inherited diseases of the nervous system. Our dedicated specialists work together to provide individualized care for genetic disorders, advancing the understanding of psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents to offer personalized treatments.

Reviews
"No one showed up to my video appointment and after an hour and a half of calling, no one contacted me to reschedule or explain what happened. During the calls, absolutely no information was provided and the secretary said she could only email to ask for updates, and was not receiving responses (I think, but she wasn't clearly explaining anything). Horrible experience."
"Most unprofessional medical organization I’ve ever gone to. I was scheduled for the wrong test (bloodwork for an EDS diagnosis, was put down as bloodwork/cancer screening) and wasn’t even made aware until arriving. I was told “some wires got crossed” as soon as I sat down (very clearly showing this was something discovered previously and they didn’t tell me). I went ahead with the testing, since I had already paid for it and missed a day of school, and left with a promise of immediate scheduling (it’s been a month and they just called today, Oct. 2) and possibly being squeezed in “within the next couple week” (apparently that was a lie and “whoever told you that must’ve been from a different department, cause we don’t do that”). I’m a dance major and this appointment has been scheduled for over a year. I’ve had multiple talks with my teachers and without any diagnosis, they can’t offer any accessibility needs. I hope whoever messed up my scheduling knows just how much they’ve messed up my next year of classes, and if anyone is deciding between this practice and another, let me help you out: don’t. Between snarky schedulers and empty promises, it’s not worth your time and money."
