"We used latouche for years before we moved from Alaska and loved them, but in Anchorage. We recently moved back and decided to try them out. We figured Eagle River would be as good as Anchorage. First and foremost , the nurse we dealt with was so pushy with vaccinations and got really anxious with me. When I told her I wanted to wait, but she kept pushing them. We aren't antivaxors, I literally could not remember which shots my daughter had gotten and she had just gotten some of the year before. I needed to move for records over. So I kept telling the nurse we need to wait. She wouldn't leave me alone until I finally explained why. It was really unprofessional and I did not appreciate her questioning me and doubting me three times as I told her I needed to wait. What really set me off is that they gave each of my kids a tablet to privately fill out questions and didn't tell me what they were filling out. I looked over at the screens and it was all mental health questions. But they were horribly written and vague. I actually have a background and behavioral the questions we're trying to be similar to mental health screening, but they were missing some very important clarifications. Like one of the questions is have you been sad at all in the last 2 weeks. When really the question should be more along the lines of....Have you been sad for long periods of time for two weeks or more. After they were done filling the questions out, the PA came into the room and told my kids straight to their face that they were both mildly depressed. I was so mad! Not only with the questions horribly written, they were completely incorrect for screening. Also to tell my children to their face and label them as depressed isn't okay or healthy. The look on their faces was just shock. She then told them that she could put them in touch with a therapist if they like... They told her no thank you and she kept pushing. They told her again no thank you. She finally said okay , I'll ask you again later. Then she came back into the room when she was done with the visit and asked them and kept pushing counseling. I finally told her that I have a background in behavioral health and that we're fine and I know what to do if there's an issue. And then she continued to tell my kids that's very normal to be depressed and that they can get help if they want. I have never been more mad at a healthcare provider. She is not a psychiatrist. She's not a counselor she does not have a background mental health and then to tell my children to their face that they are depressed... What does that do to a kid!? We will never go back there and I will find a much healthier place for my kids. I didn't feel like they were very respectful towards the parents wishes. I got tired of feeling like they were pushing me in a certain direction. And what they did to my kids is incredibly unhealthy and dangerous. I will never go back and I would recommend other parents to not go back."
"I personally had a great first experience here with my newborn. Chrystal was great!"
"POTENTIAL PATIENTS BEWARE! This LaTouche location is running a scam. They are very pushy about screenings and unnecessary appointments. They will gain your confidence and tell you, "your insurance covers this!" but it is a lie. They lied to us twice about co pay amounts. We now we have to file an appeal with our insurance company. Mary Blankish is extremely rude, arrogant and awkward with children. She has managed to make both of our daughters feel uncomfortable(ages 12 and 4). She shames parents, pressures kids and has a "my way or the highway" type of approach, which isn't fitting for a pediatric doctor in my opinion. The front desk always seems lost on what is happening. The nurses and the Dr. named Nicole were always pleasant though."
"It started off well enough, but after 18 months with this “group,” it’s been the worst experience I’ve ever been subject to. We have two children with 1 monthly prescription each. Every single month we call in their prescription and every single month they say they will call us back to let us know this prescription have been sent to the pharmacy. We have never received a single notification from them and we have checked multiple times to ensure our info is correct. Half the time we go to pick them up, only one has been sent in so we have to call the office again and have them send it, again. This wouldn’t be that much of a hassle if it wasn’t for the long wait times they have on many occasions. The prescription this is certainly aggravating, but our last visit about a month ago has us look to change providers. Our child injured her wrist skateboarding and it was causing her some moderate pain. We went in to the Eagle River clinic and she was given an examination. He said he didn’t believe it was broken, but then suggested we have it x-rayed just in case. Then he informed us that they do not have imaging machines and we would have to go to a different company across the street for imaging. He also offered us a brace for her arm and said it wouldn’t cost us anything. He also stated that the company across the street should be covered, it was not. We were charged for a special visit with LaTouche, which was absolutely pointless. We were also charged for a visit and imaging at the other company across the street. We were also charged for the brace that we were told would be free. All and all we ended up paying $800 out of pocket, $500 for an unnecessary visit to an imaging place when they should have X-ray machines of their own. My child’s wrist took about a week to heal. These people have little regard for patient health and no regard for peoples finances, we will be finding a better location."
"The provider made my four year old daughter and wife feel extremely uncomfortable. The environment was hostile and unwelcoming. We will be changing pediatric offices."
