"Dr. Sandford does not provide the highest quality of care. After Dr. Sandford told me I didn’t have cancer, a biopsy confirmed that I did. I immediately headed out of state for a second opinion and learned that Alaska’s imaging had missed not one not two but three spots - including a lymph node. My MD Anderson team told me Anchorage should’ve caught my cancer 3 years ago - when it would’ve been an early diagnosis. Primary care physicians in Alaska should not be recommending this practice. You’ll have much better treatment options and access to highly skilled surgeons in the Lower 48."

"Dr. Standord never talked to me about what to expect during surgery, including margins. She took out 10 times more breast tissue than was necessary, and does not offer reconstruction surgery. When I questioned her about why she took so much out, she told me that "my questions were becoming unreasonable." She lectured me that I should be walking up and down my street carrying 5 gallon buckets of water to avoid osteoporosis caused by hormone blockers. I know that sounds crazy, but it is true. My husband who was with me was astounded. Her NP Nancy Nigge is apparently unaware that seromas can be controlled by compression rather than sticking a needle into your breast to drain it. AVOID."
