Federal Building

"10/6- This is a great place to visit for free. I'll post other pictures later. I had fun walking around. Lots to see and do. They will check you for weapons as it is a Federal building and you walk in through a metal detector. Make time to visit. There's no time restriction."

They had an incredible visitor center with interactive displays of the entire state, NPS to answer questions, plus clean restrooms and informative movies and science talks (from mineralogy to birds of Alaska - with live bird demonstrations). Perfect for getting out of the weather, whatever it may be at the time. Perfect for families or anyone just wanting a less crowded experience. You do have to pass through a security screen (no weapons or ulu knives)."
