"Dr. Glaves and his medical assistant Abigail, are phenomenal. They are the best medical PCMs I've ever had EVER! They are amazing! I wouldn't be alive without them. Dr. Glaves cares about ALL HIS patients immensely and with Abigail's support he is able to appropriately care for everyone under his care. Time and time again I've tried going outside for emergency care with poor results. Once Dr Glaves is informed I get a call from him or Abigail. I don't want to tell all my health problems on Google, but today I had a medical emergency with my eyelid. He worked diligently and was able to find another amazing specialist that performed the emergency surgery in 45 minutes or leaving his office. This is far from the first time or any example. I see many poor reviews for this clinic, but am positive that Dr. Glaves or Abigail are the problem. Maybe that's the reason he usually has a resident with him to observe. Abigail always asks if it's OK to have the observer with him while attending to me. Dr. Glaves is extremely knowledgeable, personable, and patient. I can't say enought about this team except for they have continously showed me love, compassion, respect, dignity, and the BEST quality care for me!"
"I got very upset with Capstone Eagle River today.. I called this morning to let them know that I will be late 5 min. The person over the phone tells me to come. I enter the building and I am actually 6 min late (trying to get through the icy parking lot with my 3 months old baby) and I got refused for my appointment! Why? Because they have a "tight" schedule. This is absolutely crazy! I have never been late to a prior appointment and I have patiently and happily waited at least 20 min in the lobby for my last appointment! TERRIBLE SERVICE - ZERO CARE OR COMPASSION. As much as I appreciate Dr. Jones, I will not come to this office anymore. Respectful patients/clients make a favor to businesses to use their services, not the opposite!"
"Stay away from Capstone. I made a mistake and established myself there against my better judgement and advice. My one star comes from them being sneaky about their prices. Legally in Alaska medical offices have to make their prices available I called multiple times trying to find their price levels for basic office visits. They constantly gave me the run around until I reminded them of the law. I called ahead before a visit telling them what I was coming in for and got a price idea, $150. When I received my bill it was for $360, plus other things they tagged on here and there. Plus the doc kept trying to convince me I had a bad appendix and to go pay for an abdominal scan. She didn't want to wait for blood work or urine and kept making it sound way more serious than it was. I had no appendix issue, I'm out $400 for an abdominal scan that was NOT needed, and then they had the nerve to charge me $360 for a visit, because they elevated the billing because the doc made up some fake bigger issues. When I called to ask then why they did this, they promised to look over the billing and get back to me. After a month they finally got back and said the bill will stand. That it is $360, because she prescribed medication, that I didn't need and didn't ask for, and didn't use. They claimed that anytime someone needs a prescription is it filed as "Medication Management" and the office visit level is raised. So if you go in for the sniffles and get a basic medication for it you will have a high level visit which is more costly. $360 minimum. Avoid Capstone, I was warned and didn't listen. I will say, they were clean, weren't as late as other doctor offices, and the docs I have worked with have been friendly. Their front desk staff was very snippy and not helpful with most questions."
"I was a patient at Capstone Clinic for 2 years and since my previous provider left recently, their service has been awful. My previous provider listened to my needs and provided the best care I ever received in my life. Now I have to go to many lengths to advocate for my health. I’m disappointed to say the least."
"It saddens me that there are negative experiences with the front desk staff at Capstone. I absolutely adore the receptionists here! They’re quick, detail oriented and very kind. They take the time to give you their full attention and they remember who I am when I call. I sincerely appreciate each and every phone call and in-person experience I have with them. As far as treatment goes, I see their nurse practitioner and she is fantastic. She’s compassionate and fun to talk to. I love Capstone!"
