Reviews
"I don't write reviews very often, but I am compelled to share my experience here. I was working in Anchorage from out of state and needed care without an appointment. From the front desk check-in to the medical assistant, I experienced friendly and efficient service. My provider, Sai Duchanin, would be my primary if I was local. She was personable, competent, and engaged. They even called me on a Sunday to make sure I was feeling better!"
"Not a good experience at this clinic. This is my personal experience and I know it will very from others, but I can't recommend this clinic to anyone. Front desk staff are very kind and patient, but the system in place (not sure if it's paper AND digital but the stack of patient manila folders in the back isn't convincing) does not seem to be as organized as you would expect for a medical office. I visited with the intent to have emergency prescriptions filled for diabetes medications as Medicaid took several months to be approved and this was the first clinic that was able to see me. This was about 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. I was seen by Bennett himself, and though I did appreciate the candor, seemed to be basing some of his knowledge on old BMI information rather than me as a patient myself. Bedside manner could be improved. I was told I could lose 20 lbs solely based on height and weight I gave him, never accounting for personal health or any information that would indicate I am healthy beyond a BMI chart. Proceeded to "pinch an inch", which made me laugh hoenstly, but I can imagine would not be ok with many other patients more sensitive to their body. On top of that, I have NEVER been "sold" a name brand drug during an appointment but was told i should look into getting on a statin and another pill (can't remember the type) for long-term use. I know this is likely common recommendation, but did not at all feel like I was being treated as an individual and more of another diabetic, which again, would only trust a specialized professional (endocrinologist) to give me specific diabetes advice. It doesn't help there was a drug rep who came in before my appointment, and though it was unlikely anything I was recommended, I couldn't help but laugh when a name brand drug was dropped during the conversation. Was told he needed to grab his stethoscope to finish the checkup and proceeded to wait 20 minutes for him to return to the room to help finish the appointment. I understand it is a small clinic and he likely is needed elsewhere, but learning both FNPs only work in office Thursday and Friday through the week (was told this by front desk), maybe trying to see so many patients in only two days isn't the best professional practice for people needing medical attention. Lastly, was referred to an endocrinologist in the area for further, long-term care, but as stated before, and understood by Bennett, I was needed diabetes supplies and medicine urgently just to hold me over until I could see an endo. I had Tandem Diabetes fax over a sheet of supplies that needed a signature to fill...multiple times before it was ever "found" and filed in my patient chart in office. Then proceeded to wait 2 more weeks for Bennett to simply sign it to be faxed back, though I was told over the phone after multiple calls, it would be handled by end of day two weeks in a row. It sadly was overlooked for those two weeks, and many many calls to the office later, was FINALLY signed by another physician the office was able to contact (not sure who), again because the FNPs are only in office the last two days of the week. Can't comprehend how many other people's needs fall through the cracks from poor attention or mismanagement of documents. Sadly my experience and though it differs patient to patient, again, I can't recommend this clinic."
"Went here months back. Early 2023 and just now leaving a review. I saw Bennett and I feel like I actually didn’t get get a load of nonsense like I have at places in town. I really appreciate that! It was almost like seeing a friend that wants to help you. I did get relief with the advice and prescription given for two issues I had going on. I then was floored to get a follow up call. That’s rare! Or at least for me it is. My review comes down to this. Patients First lives up to its name. I will go here again no question if ever needed."
"This place is truly does put their >. Really great service, kind, compassionate, and caring staff. I called around to a bunch of medical clinics in Anchorage that were trying to schedule me out for the end of April (Independence Park and a coupe others), well that doesn't work when you are suffering and need immediate help. Patients First got me in as a same day walk in, and from the very first phone call, to the next day follow up, they were kind, concerned, and helpful. I was really impressed! And will go to them exclusively!"
"Scheduled a women’s wellness appointment. Unfortunately I did not receive a women’s wellness. Instead they took my blood pressure 4 times and tried to give me an EKG. Which I declined. They also drew labs on me which I did consent to. That being said a provider never called me with results instead an MA called me and basically told me I needed to stop eating garbage and exercise. During my visit no one ever asked me what I ate or if I exercised. I have also lost 17 pounds in 3 months due to lifestyle changes. I was offered no real info regarding my labs and wasn’t provided good care in terms of women’s wellness. I was billed for women’s wellness and now cannot go to anywhere else to complete my women’s wellness. I’m very dissatisfied. If the practice isn’t equipped to do women’s wellness visits that is completely 100% ok but just be up front with patients about it."
