Alaska Native Medical Center: Emergency Department 4315 Diplomacy Drive, Anchorage, AK 99508
About the Business
The Alaska Native Medical Center Emergency Department, located at 4315 Diplomacy Drive in Anchorage, Alaska, provides full-service emergency care for a wide range of illnesses and injuries. The ED works closely with village health care providers to guide medical care for Alaska Native and American Indian people in rural communities.
Staffed with board certified emergency physicians and nursing specialists, the ANMC ED is equipped to handle serious medical conditions and injuries. For lower acuity cases, treatment is provided by physician assistants and nurse practitioners in the Southcentral Foundation ED Fast Track, which operates from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. seven days a week.
As Alaska's first Level II Trauma Center, the ANMC serves as the trauma referral center for tribal health facilities statewide. The trauma center has specialists available 24/7, including trauma surgeons, orthopedists, and neurosurgeons, to care for patients with complex and severe injuries.
Patients are triaged upon arrival and directed to either the ANMC ED or the SCF ED Fast Track based on the severity of their condition and the time of their visit. The ANMC ED is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, while the SCF ED Fast Track operates from early morning to late evening.
For inquiries or assistance, the ANMC ED can be reached at (907) 729-1729. Please note that wait times are not disclosed over the phone.

"I have been here 3 times. And it’s been 2 - 4 hours waiting for them to see my kids. And 1 time my boy had a broken arm. I was there for 5 hours just for them to put on a cast. Right now I’m here with my boy bawling his eyes out in pain. And they just look at us and look away. I’m very disappointed!!"
"You'll be skipped even if Sent by another hospital for surgery and you are not allowed to eat. They don't have nurses doing check in, they disappear for 15+minutes at a time. The last time I had to come here they gave me meds that I was allergic to (and they knew it) and refused to tell me before administration what meds I was getting. Literally only still coming because of my lack of insurance"
"Very slow, patients who clearly need help are not seen right away. Patients who physically cannot do stuff themselves IN WHEEL CHAIRS are left alone with no help and when they simply ask for water “sorry can’t do water right now” nor do they even wheel them and place them nicely. I’ve seen a woman gurgling with every breath and everytime she talked wait for 3 hours. Messed up."
"Yes it is a great place to be they know how to take good care of you and your courteous the hospital takes good care of our people and I go up I come up to Anchorage for medical"
"Er hung up on me at 12:15 today as I was explaining my ear problems. I believe the person should be fired for hanging up on me like that especially experiencing hearing loss and infected as well with a hole in my ear drum."
