Reviews of Lookout Pointe
"EDIT 11/14/23: Management addressed one of my maintenance concerns, and the others (bug-related) no longer matter now that it's turned to winter. For a prospective tenant, my notes would now be: - CON: The cost of utilities. As I said below, this is consistently over $200/month. This is a concern that I wish the owners would address. I would give five stars if utilities cost less. As I say below, I've lived in Provo for six years and never had to pay half this much. - PRO: The location, view, and privacy. Compared to the student-overrun valley, this is a nice oasis. The view during the sunset is incredible. - CON: The cost of the apartment itself. The apartments are small and not incredibly nice. As others have mentioned, you pay mostly for the view and the landscaping. - PRO: Local management is really caring and tries to make this a home for residents. - CON: The walls are very thin, and there are shared vents between apartments. I have neighbors who play video games loudly late into the night and whose dogs bark indiscriminately. I've found that leaving the bathroom fan on at night is typically enough white noise that I sleep through it. ORIGINAL POST 10/2/23: This place looked so beautiful from outside and has such nice views that I couldn't resist getting an apartment here. But be careful. The on-site staff are incredible, but incredibly overworked. They need a maintenance staff about four times its current size to keep up with service requests. I moved in two months ago and immediately submitted several service requests, and none of them have been seen to. Additionally, they charge $50/month for cable--who uses cable?--which initially seemed like a rate I was willing to pay, until my first month's bill came in. On top of the month-to-month rent, I had to pay $230. What seemed like a reasonable deal for an apartment suddenly became way too much to pay, especially for poorly maintained apartments. I've lived in Provo for six years and never had to pay even 30% as much for utilities and facility use, and never had such an unresponsive maintenance team. Everything else about the apartment is great. The neighbors and on-site staff are, again, incredible. It's a great community with a gorgeous landscape. I just wish they spent a little less on landscaping and a little more on maintenance and their staff."
"The apartment's location is very beautiful especially if you enjoy hiking or being in nature. Winter can be a trek however, with how steep the hills are but if you plan accordingly, it's not a complete nightmare. The current staff here are also very kind and understanding in regards to tenant concerns but tend to be understaffed for the amount of maintenance services needed. Overall, the apartments are nice for what you pay for and it's a good place to start for first time apartment renters."
"I've lived here for going on 3 years. It's Amazing beautiful scenery everywhere you look. Management is amazing. I've never had a problem getting anything fixed. My repairs are done correctly and in a reasonable amount of time. They're are friendly and caring. I love the friendly atmosphere with my neighbors. They're truly pet friendly with amenities for the animals all over the property. It's amazing!!! But don't get me wrong. If you don't follow the rules in the lease. You will be held accountable. If you don't clean up after your pet you will be held accountable. But this is what keeps it a peaceful place to live for everybody. Which I appreciate greatly.Thank you"
