Santa Fe at Cottonwood

"Not a pet friendly property. They do not allow visitors with pets on the property at all not even for a hour or there is a fine! I’ve lived all over the country and have never heard of such a thing! Lost a potential renter due to this rule this property management company has put in place. Be certain to ask the questions prior to applying for any rental property if you have pets and or visitors coming to visit with dogs, this property does not even allow it."

"At one point, I would have said 4 stars, but after multiple management changes, I'm going to say 1 star. After paying a $600 security deposit, we lived in our apartment for 2 years. After leaving and the apartment we were told that there was a cleaning fee and they needed to replace somethings that would come from our 600 security deposit and after that we were told that we had 180 remaining to be sent to us. That never happened! It has been a year and a half, and we get a phone call shaking us down for 59 dollars. I explained that we never got our 180 returned to us, and they said not our problem we are going to send this to collections. It is totally ridiculous that they feel like this a proper way to run a business. Do not rent from them. It's not a safe place. They take months to work on any work orders, and that is if they ever do."

"Left a review here a year ago (5-stars), but must revise that for a few reasons. First, they say they are”pet-friendly” but make having a pet here a crazy expense and as of the last few weeks they have tried to find any way to create new fines and fees for having them. My 2 dogs have been professionally trained at Innovative K9, and I have the certificates to prove it. However, I am no longer allowed to let my dogs out of the apartment unless the have been DNA TESTED AND TAGGED (which, don’t forget you have to pay for). This is not in our agreed upon lease, but in fear of management doing what they can to make out lives miserable we have been coerced to comply. Also, while most of the front office staff has been amazing! I’ve heard a lot of the residents are being bullied by someone named David. Heard he is on the stay clear of list! Just wanted to give future tenants a heads up! In all fairness, because clearly I am frustrated, managements communication and the handymen on the property have always been pretty helpful and I am grateful! The second star is because of you guys. And the property/apartments are well taken care of. UPDATE TO THEIR RESPONSE: They mentioned that I haven’t not cleaned up after my dog or enrolled in their DNA Testing which are both not true statements. I have not received fines for either. I have gotten a $50 fine for walking my dogs to and from the car because I forgot leashes when I picked them up, THAT WAS MY BAD. However, the other two statements are completely untrue as of this date."

"We moved in the beginning of this month and we have been very satisfied with everything so far! We had a small issue with our toilet and less than 5 minutes after reporting it we had a very nice maintenance guy come to fix it! Everyone in the leasing office and any member of the maintenance crew we have met have been very kind, respectful, and accommodating. We swam in the pool and relaxed in the hot tub before it got too cold for the kiddos and we were very pleasantly surprised how clean and well-kept the pool and hot tub were (: They keep the grounds very clean, and we love how close it is(walking distance) to so many stores and places to eat. Definitely recommend living here ! As a side note, I have read all the negative reviews and it sucks that people had negative experiences living here, but it sounds to me like a lot of those experiences are very typical of apartment living and if you don’t like them you should buy a house lol."

"I’m very impressed with the current on-site management team at Santa Fe at Cottonwood. When I first moved here, this property needed much needed attention. During Covid it literally fell into worse disarray. The new management team with Doreen Wynn and her team Tanner, David and Josie have literally turned this property around. I’m impressed. They are very responsive to maintenance and the grounds look great. The last 9 months huge turn around. This property was torn with issues and crime for 2 decades and bad management. These apartments are in one of the most upscale parts of Salt Lake and now they are up to par with the neighborhood its in. It’s amazing the change. The reputation of this property has even been changing in views of the community.of Cottonwood Heights. The apartments are very spacious great amenities, even a full 24 hour gym. Much has been remodeled and cleaned up professionally. Great job to the management team at Santa Fe at Cottonwood."
