"Wish I could give no stars. Lived here a while ago in 2019 we had a serious bug infestation problem, so we asked to move units. Only to find even more bed bugs and couch roaches behind the cabinets and in the floor boards. When we went to the office staff about it, they quite literally didn’t do anything and said it wasn’t their problem. The entire complex needed to be bug bombed and deep cleaned in order to even be livable. (Which never happened)"
"Maintenance takes a very long time to get done. Office rarely answers the phone and never responds to messages left. The courtesy of doing things in a timely manner is not extended to tenants."
"First of all is the unprofessionalism of the entire office staff. They never answer the phone. You akways had to go in person. Every month they would post a note of a "small balance owed" There was "valet garbage" that was only picked up once a week. This was a mandatory fee. My son asked for a screen for his window. It took 6 months to get it. They scheduled a mandatory date for pest extermination. The guy was a bully and came in and made threats; broke a drawer and our stove. We had no bugs before that; afterwards they were everwhere. Microwave was broke. Never fixed. They sceduled construction(didn't notify us in advance). Because of the scaffolding, we were unable to exit the building. They said there was nothing they could do. I called the news station, police, code enforcement and the fire station. We were scheduled to move out in a few days because we had had enough. They only took part of it down because a resident fell. Otherwise, I would have still been stuck there. My son's car was broken into 3 times in the year that we were there."
"I paid a $350 holding fee for an apartment they assured would be ready and they failed to inform us on the state of said apartment by the time our promised move in date came. I requested my refundable fee back that day and they have still yet to pay a year later."
"I have had numerous landlords throughout my life and this has BY FAR above and beyond been the worst imaginable management I have ever had. The apartment was filled with bugs, pest control was supposed to be free but they never did anything about the problem after numerous requests to management for "included pest control" my bedroom window cracked inexplicably while living there, assumingly wear and tear from previous tenants and after numerous requests, management never repaired my broken window. I had the refrigerator go out not once, but twice, during my 7 month stay at the Village, costing me hundreds in groceries. The second time they finally replaced the fridge with an older one from another unit that was dirty and loud but at least they replaced it. Without asking (during covid mind you) the worker grabbed my food out of the fridge without asking to take out to replace the new unit with. Some of the staff is very polite, but most of the time very rude. When i put in my 60 days notice, the front office girl rudely said I had to go an additional month and threatened to put charges on my credit if I did not add an additional month as a month to month in addition to my lease agreement (at a 1,500 rate for a two bedroom, filled with roaches and a broken window) I was livid but I complied and just paid it. I cleared my apartment out completely, provided contact information entirely and paid in full and two months after moving out I received an email bogus bill of additional charges for a broken window, pest control, trash empty of $150 (the apartment was 100 percent empty) I wish i were exaggerating. These people give slum lords the name. Leaving this review for good karma to hopefully help someone else. ✌"
