Tanner Clinic: Adam Hutchinson, MD

"We have seen Dr Hutchinson three times now and I can honestly say he is one of the most condescending doctors I have ever encountered. I took my child in twice for high fevers. One of the visits the MA barely taped his forehead and got an extremely low number. Dr Hutchinson came in and made me feel an inch big for bringing my child in for a fever when he clearly doesnt he said. I explained how he had a fever less than 10 mins ago at home done rectally. He began to explain how the Thermometer works and hospital grade is better than home and he knows what he is talking about. I agreed and asked to rescan him. I got a fever over 101. That was our 1st encounter. We saw him again for a fever. I explained to him that my child had a fever and last time he had a fever it took 3 different visits to instacare and ER to diagnose him with RSV/ Influenza. I said this time I would like to not do the long way and test him. I explained how during that 3 visits it was a mess and they gave him albuterol, 3 different antibiotics and it took over nine days to stop the fevers. I told him I dont want to put my child on an antibiotic unless necessary because he had so many prior. IHe barely listened to me. In my childs note he documented I was asking for an antibiotic to have "just in case", asked to give albuterol in clinic that day and said that I hadnt been accurately checking his temperature so he didnt likely have a fever. I am so frustrated this is now in my childs record because that was not our conversation..... I definitely do not recommend him unless ypu want to be belittled as a parent. He makes me leave in tears all 3 times he's seen my child. I should note that Im a nurse and not naive to antibiotics, fevers or sickness."

"Adam Hutchinson is such an amazing doctor! He has been so patient with me being worried about every little thing with my newborn who is now 5 months old. Lots of phone calls and messages when something was worrying me. He has always been so reassuring and calm and never made me feel stupid for my worries. I'd recommend him to any person looking for a pediatrician and if I could give more stars I would! Thank you for all you do doctor Hutchinson and team! You guys are amazing!"

"It must have been a busy day because we waited to be seen about 20 minutes or more and then waited twice more in the room. The doctor was nice but didn’t have much to say besides keep doing what you are doing. The lady that took my daughter’s temperature and weight, sounded like she was sick herself and was not wearing a mask. I feel like that a no brainer, wear a mask!"

"Dr. Hutchison was not my daughters primary doctor but saw my daughter quickly as a walk in due to an acute issue. He was very helpful and explained things to my 10 year old daughter. When I had an issue/question later that day he personally took the phone call and answered my questions. Would highly recommend. We have had great experiences with all 3 of my daughters at the pediatric department at Tanner clinic."

"Dr. Hutchinson is so cool! He has a calm, professional demeanor and is very knowledgeable. We love the Tanner Clinic, the receptionists and nurses are so nice here as well. We have always had positive experiences here. It’s nice that they have separate areas for ill and healthy children. Plus, they have a giant white stuffed horse behind the reception desk, it’s pretty awesome to see."
