"Needs an elevator, people with disabilities wouldn't be able to visit relatives who live on the 2nd or 3rd floors. The hallways are like saunas. Not sure what the extreme heat is all about. But definitely uncomfortable after moviving furniture up to the 3rd floor. Needs a bigger "relief" area for pets. My German Shepherd doesn't have much room to run and play/poop."
"Very good apt and owner. Got to meet our landlord yesterday and she was awesome. Went over everything with us and also showed us our garage as well"
"I have had a wonderful experience with relocating to Prairie Winds. Everything was virtual. Shelly had everything ready for me. She is professional, and went out of her way to make my move easy and had everything ready for me even though the office was closed upon my arrival. I love my apartment!"
"Prairie Winds staff not only make you feel at home, but are also active & responsive to all their resident's needs. I have had zero issues in the last 12 months, and every question I've had was resolved quickly & efficiently. Love my apartment & garage!"
"My son needed a place to live in Sioux Falls for an internship. We are from the east coast and didn’t know anyone in the area. I found the Prairie Winds on Craigslist. What I liked about them is they answered the phone when you called. I didn’t get a call back from other complexes. They were wiling to write a short term 6-month lease and the price of the apartment was within the going rate. We rented the apartment sight unseen. I visited my son twice each time for a week over the 6 months he lived there. The one-bedroom apartment was spacious but dated. Every appliance worked well. The décor of the apartment was brown. Really brown. Like being in a time warp from 1980 brown. However, despite not over loving the style, it was clean, and rather well soundproofed. The kitchen had small ants under the sink cupboard that appeared if you dropped food on the floor and didn’t pick it up right away. But that was a pretty minor thing. Maintenance came to change the heater/ac filter while I was there, and they came exactly when they said they would. My only complaint is they charged my son a cleaning fee when he left. They said the stove/microwave was dirty and they had to shampoo the carpets. Both he and I felt that he left the place just as clean as when he arrived. It wasn’t worth fighting over. All in all, it was a good place to live for 6 months for relatively cheap considering it was rented sight unseen."
