Tru by Hilton Rapid City Rushmore 825 Eglin Street, Rapid City, SD 57701

"Overall a good experience for now affordable this location was. Only cost $70 a night for one room with 2 queen beds. Staff member working front desk was immediately welcoming and asked if I was a Hilton honors member. I've been to a few Hilton hotels and always forget that's a thing I'm a member of. The employee quickly looked me up and gave me my complimentary water and snack. Explained how connecting to WiFi worked, and provided instructions to get the room. 10/10 employee who was just a people person. The rooms were clean but there were red smears on the frame around the bathroom door, and crumbs and debris under the mattresses (always check under to make sure no bugs). Room was definitely tolerable and those were my only gripes. No coffee in the room but the front lobby has coffee 24/7. Has a variety of creamers or hot water and chocolate powder mix for a hot cocoa."

"Room was comfortable, however we noticed crumbs on the floor by the window and a stray potato chip on the shelf for the night stand, so I’m not sure how well the room was cleaned. It also wasn’t until I was in the shower I realized there was no conditioner, we had two bottles of shampoo instead."

"Newer and clean. Was not busy due to the Thanksgiving holiday, so it was nice and quiet. Sound proof walls are always important to me in a hotel. Modern concept with no coffee pots in rooms. I personally do not mind this, but when traveling with the older generation, I know they do. Pretty good breakfast selection. If you stay here, check out the interesting rock at back entrance. There are games and hang out areas for teens or family time."

"Coffee had bad flavor need to look in to another coffee brand. Towels could use softening very rough like 220 grit sandpaper. Other than that very clean nice hotel. Room was nice great shower pressure was awesome I will be back."

"We had not yet stayed in a Tru hotel, but saw it was in the area we were traveling through. The price looked very competitive and even quite a bit less expensive than other hotels in the area. Apparently they are styled to go after a younger generation, we are in upper 60's. But, we loved it! Fresh decor, reminded us of IKEA, clean lines and nothing unneeded. I had to laugh when we saw several other couples in our "season of life". This hotel is definitely not just for younger people! Beds were comfortable, breakfast was perfectly fine and room had good sound proofing. We would definitely recommend this hotel and will be looking for it ourselves as we are traveling."
