"Unfortunately you get what you pay for! Got to our room to get ready for bed and there was blood on the comforter and wrappers in the bed…. Told staff, they were helpful in getting us new HOPEFULLY clean sheets. Would definitely check bedding before you sleep in it!"
"The first gal during check-in wasn’t very friendly, but was later helpful in getting us a playpen for our baby. The other gal working with her was also helpful in getting us extra pillows. We were told 24 hr service and if we needed anything to just call or go to the front desk. Everything seemed pretty good until midnight-3 am when our 1 yr old refused to sleep without milk (which we didn’t have). Went down to the front desk to get some assuming they’d simply have a bottle or carton. Younger girl working absolutely refused to give me any “because they don’t like us to hand it out unless for breakfast “ DUMBEST thing I’ve ever heard. Not impressed at all."
"Well I walked into the lobby with no reservation and the front desk girl looked terrified that she had to make a reservation and check it in! She'd only been there for a couple of weeks and based on the below, she was not trained very well and should not have been left alone on shift. She was nice though. Upon entering the room, I was shocked! there was hair everywhere in the bathroom, food on the floor, walls so beat up and filthy. I literally walked in and walked out. The front desk girl promised I wouldn't be charged. And well...I was charged. I would have known sooner if the property emailed me a copy of my receipt as requested because I had a bad feeling I would be charged. I never did get a receipt, so I thought all was well because if you don't stay, there aren't any charges posted and the credit card wouldn't be charged. I just recently returned home from taking care of a family member for an extended period and saw that I was charged $84.75 for not staying. I won't even bother calling the hotel because it's been two months and I should have followed up, but things happened. I just want people to do themselves a favor and go pay less at the much nicer Fairfield across the street. After 25 years of hotel management, this was one of the worst rooms I've ever seen. Usually I can overlook things, because I know how hard the job is. But this was ...wow...bad!!! The management and owners of this property should be so incredibly embarrassed, but I'm guessing they could care less based on the overall condition of their property and will just wait until Choice hotels really gets on them."
"I recently stayed at a sleeping hotel in Rapid City, and my experience was quite positive. The hotel was a pleasant and quiet place to rest. The room was well-decorated and clean, and the staff was exceptionally helpful. The standout feature was the comfortable mattress; it provided a great night's sleep. However, there were a couple of downsides. The breakfast menu was somewhat limited, which could be improved. Additionally, when I first entered the room, there was an overwhelming scent of air freshener or some similar fragrance, which was a bit too strong for my liking. Despite these minor issues, I left the hotel feeling very satisfied with my stay and would certainly recommend it to others looking for a good night's sleep in Rapid City."
"I really don't understand the negative reviews for this hotel. Eleanor and Lisa were exceptionally helpful with my requests. I even managed to check in a bit early since a room was available, which is a rare courtesy in many other hotels I've been to. The breakfast was outstanding—definitely among the best I've had. A big thank you to Lisa and Eleanor for making my stay great! Beds are clean and they are comfortable. I didn't see any roaches, nastiness, etc."
