"The rooms were nice and clean. Besides that, I was disappointed in my stay, because of the way we were treated. We decided to go on a trip to SD from out of state after it was suggested to us because it was our last spring break before graduating college. We wanted to take advantage of not having to take time off from work. After reserving the room online, I called to make sure that I was able to stay there at 20 and 19 since I know some places have a rule that you must 21. When I called I spoke with Brenda the assistant general manager, and right after I told her my age and that it was spring break for us, she immediately started to make unnecessary comments to me. A few were "If you plan on bringing alcohol and inviting a lot of people to have a party in our hotel, then don't even bother coming here", (thank you Brenda for assuming such things, I am glad that we were able to prove you wrong.) and then she said "Our hotels are not meant for parties, and also you are only 20 you are underage, and drinking is illegal." (thank you for the information, I know how old I am Brenda, and I know what is legal and what is not.). After the remarks, Brenda ultimately told me that yes, I was allowed to book a room with them at my age, so I continued to plan our trip. When arriving at the hotel, my boyfriend and I walked into the hotel to check into our room. When standing at the counter Brenda was the first to greet us and she asked my name and age, I told her those things. And who I believe was the General Manager (not sure of her name, think it may have been Kim, as no one wore name tags or had the sign up for manager on duty.) of the hotel snapped at us and said, "no you are not allowed to stay here unless you are 21 years old." And I told her that I called 5 days before we were set to check in and I was told by Brenda, who was checking us in, that we were allowed to stay at our ages. She then proceeded to tell us that the rule had just changed a couple of days ago because they had, had some issues with minors drinking at the bar. (Yes, I am a minor, I am sorry, but I don't know how that pertains to me as you should be able to have someone capable of checking IDs to see if the person is of age or not. That doesn't fall on me.). She then said, "If you plan on coming back to SD, don't you plan on staying with us again because you are not allowed". and then said, "If there is any sign of alcohol in your room, you will be asked to pack up and leave the hotel." At this point, I was ready to walk out the door and find another hotel to stay at. I understood that yes, it was spring break, and we are underage, but even as a 20-year-old, I felt as though the managers of this hotel could have handled this situation with much more respect for their customers. Eventually, we got our keys to our room and were able to get settled in. The next day, our keys were disabled for some reason, we went to the front desk after attempting to get into our room after a day of adventuring, and we spent 15 minutes trying to get someone to reset our keys. I called the hotel 4 times trying to get someone to come out to answer the phones, but that didn't work, so, I eventually started walking around knocking on the hotel staff doors, when I believe Kim finally came out from the back room and blamed it on that they haven't set up a way for them to know when people are at the front desk. I noticed that there were 2 bells they had hidden behind the counter, that could have been set out for customers. On checkout day after loading the car up, the lady working the front desk, (not sure of her name) was standing outside and had seen us loading the car. We walked to the front desk, where we waited for someone to help us, as the lady stood outside watching us wait, through the window, as she had to finish her cigarette. (Yes, people get breaks, but customers should come first.) You will not have to worry about my business ever again, even when I am 21 and am "allowed" back! Hope you know now that not every college student goes on spring break to party."
"We just discovered their breakfast! I wish I had taken a picture of my most amazing BLT with egg. It had to be the biggest croissant I have ever seen. It was filled with lettuce egg, crispy bacon, tomato and a wonderful sauce. And it came with a side fruit salad that I counted nine different fruits! I definitely want to come back for breakfast. They serve breakfast until 10:00 (I asked) on top of this delicious breakfast the service was amazing!"
"The room was very clean and comfortable. Staff at all points during our stay were friendly and helpful. Pool and hot tub area were clean and well serviced. The restaurant had great service and food."
"The lady at the front desk when we checked in yesterday afternoon was very kind and helpful! Our room was just what we expected clean and comfortable. We ate supper and couldn't have had a better meal. The chef Cercie Usher did an amazing job with the chicken Alfredo for my husband. Our appetizer was great. I had a club sandwich and it was way more than I could eat. Cercie was our waitress, server and chef. You can tell she enjoys her job. We have stayed here before but have never had the opportunity to eat supper. Glad we were able to enjoy an excellent meal without having to drive anywhere."
