"I had my wedding reception here in September for the price I paid for it you would expected a clean room nope. I would never recommend someone to have there wedding reception here. I got told last minute they dont do the decorating and they would not work with me to let us in to decorate the night before. So we had to do it all the morning of the day of the wedding. Then they forgot to put my free room down for the night. Put us in a handicap room and the bath tub wasnt even clean. The reception room wasn't vaccummed when we came the morning of the wedding day. When we got there for the reception the employees were very rude. They weren't supposed to have the food out tell 6pm and my DJ told me they put it out 3pm it was burnt I did not eat. For the $2000 I spent on food you think it would of been edible. The bar tender cut people off at 9pm when we had the room tell 2am. There customer service was terrible! Would not recommend to anyone! Oh n my sister had booked a reservation for they day before and day of and they messed that up completely too."

"I'm normally not a reviewer but I just thought I would leave one. If you're considering staying here double check if the pool is open is that is a must for you, I read reviews that it was under construction back in June so I assumed it would be been finished being as its almost December and when we checked in we were informed it was still closed. Not a huge deal but my 11 year old was excited to swim. The room was ok a best... with that being said our room had the worst hotel mattress I've ever experienced. It was so hard I had to sleep on top of pillows to be comfortable. This hotel is not an absolute no but the price is outrageous considering how out dated and old the rooms are its not a "nice room". We had a reservation for two nights and after the first night we canceled and went over to Hampton Inn. I wish I would have came over here from the start. They are about the same price but this room was a way nicer experience. Comfortable bed, operating pool, room has its own thermostat. Etc. Save your money and go across the street."

"Three rooms over 2 days.... First room, Room 100, King pool access, pullout couch- Had a "dirty" smell, carpet looked old and dirty, water in fridge, coffe cup lids had coffee spots on them, HVAC unit not moving air and visibly dirty (found filter was absolutely full - see pictures), toilet had mold spots growing in it, pull out couch had food in it and no linens. Second room, Room 107, king outside access, no pullout couch - did not move into it as it had a strong odor of pest killer. Third room, room 110, king suite pool access, pullout couch - HVAC unit was not fully put together, smelled "dirty", pull out couch was damaged and had no linens, office chair was damaged, shower area looked dirty and visible signs of water damage, used bar of soap left in shower, toilet wouldnt flush. Website shows pool construction until 10/31/2023 and is not open. Hallway has damaged and missing ceiling tiles."

"Holiday Inn Spearfish, South Dakota is a very good hotel. This is an older hotel. I’m guessing 35+ years old. Everything is clean, the beds are comfortable and the staff is absolutely amazing. Our rooms WiFi wasn’t working very well, so the front desk just let us borrow another room so we could attend an online conference call for 3 hours for no additional fee. The rooms are reasonably priced. We highly recommend this hotel."

"The hotel is dated and run down. Everything looked worn and shabby. My room faced the pool area and I could hear people talking when they walked through there. Once the construction is done, it will be loud! The hotel had a weird smell, like cleaning products and fried food. The hotels across the street looked nicer. The breakfast isn't free."
