"I apologize for taking so long to write this review. I gave birth 3 weeks ago today and wanted to send the biggest thanks out to 4 particular women that made birth and after birth as best as it could be. The compassion and care they showed us was truly moving. On the delivery floor and mom baby floor, sending out gratitude to Kelly, Kristie, Elizabeth, and Sadie. Thank you ladies! "I heard raving reviews from multiple people about the labor and delivery center at this hospital. Unfortunately I did not have the same experience. I arrived at 6:30 for my induction and nothing was started until around 8:30 am, not a big deal. Our nurse came in twice before another nurse said she was taking over for the previous nurse (this was not at shift change). I alerted the new nurse multiple times that I was bleeding and feeling large gushes of fluid and she was very dismissive saying it was just bloody show. When my dr arrived to pop my water bag, surprise surprise it wasn’t there. Fast forward to after the birth, they removed the catheter and got everything situated. My nurse, at this point was a different one again this time it was after shift change, she took me to the bathroom to get cleaned up, during this I missed them doing foot prints, weight and length measurements which I would’ve really liked to be a part of. Then it turned out my uterus was displaced and they needed to insert another catheter to drain my bladder which had they not jumped the gun on removing the first one, it wouldn’t have been an issue. The charge nurse (male) was present for this and when I asked if it would hurt he said it would only be uncomfortable. The insertion of the catheter was the MOST painful part of the day and I had just given birth so that says a lot. Afterward he said “I lied I guess it is a painful process, sorry”. Fast forward to the next morning I had been transferred to the women’s pavilion, I’m woken up at 6 am telling me I need to pee or they are going to put A THIRD CATHETER. I tried and tried and finally was able to. The nurses return at 8 threatening me again with the catheter. I alerted my dr and she said that’s absurd. The next day the same nurse came in and laughed at me making jokes about how scared I was to have to get another catheter. Extremely unprofessional. I even had a tech tell me after the nurse left the room that I have every right to deny the catheter if I felt necessary which I did! We were also given a huge packet of papers in a folder that was never once explained to us and when we asked questions at discharge (same nurse that thought the catheter situation was a joking matter) said “um I don’t know, I don’t usually discharge patients” at that point any professional would go ask their colleague I would think? I hope others have a better experience than me because this was absolutely traumatizing to say the least and 2.5 weeks later im still in sever pain from the catheter."

"Diamond quality health care service in the Labor and Delivery unit. The services, and staff here are above and beyond. The cleanliness and accessibility of the rooms and services are fantastic. All of the nurses, doctors, technicians, and general staff members are nothing but compassionate and genuinely care for their patients. I never felt rushed, or burdensome, never pressured, or unsure of procedures or processes. The OB staff of UC Rangewood in combination with the hospital staff here I would recommend and trust this facility time and time again. Thank you for being an example of what healthcare should be."

"Just recently gave birth here with my first baby. I had a great experience! The nurses were wonderful! Everyone was so patient and answered all of my questions. Staff always after for permission before beginning something and letting me know what was happening at each step! We absolutely plan to come back for future births."

"I can not rave enough about my birth experience here. I have had 5 babies, all at different hospitals (military) and this experience surpassed them all. My nurses and doctors listened to me and what I wanted. I was not forced into anything and was made aware of everything about to happen. I felt like an active participant in my health care. My nurses never made me feel like a burden or dramatic even though I was at times. Baby was cared for so well. The hospital is beautiful and the rooms r so well organized. The labor and delivery wing is a bit out the way but just means it’s more secure."
