"Dr. Bartel and all the front staff are fabulous. I have no complaints and feel as if I have received the best of care."
"Disappointed in the front desk and their financial policies. I was offered a very generous payment plan as my insurance ended up not covering very much. The front desk told me if I needed to skip a month, just let them know. I skipped last month, and the next week got an email from my sons therapist stating she’s using “clinical discretion” and canceling our future appointments and no longer holding his biweekly slot bc I wasn’t able to make one payment. I sent her a pretty vulnerable and honest email about how it was down to paying the office or feeding my kids, and I didn’t even get an email back. The front desk never answers the phone, and they have SUPER strict financial policies that seem unfair when the front desk (where there’s almost always two people) never answers the phone."
"I was seeing Alisa Bartel for over a year. Did not meet any treatment goals. I wanted to start EMDR and that was expressed and she never created a treatment plan. I moved to Arizona, she knew I was going thru a divorce, and she scheduled an out of state zoom meeting. Which when I joined the link I realized I had missed it because of the time difference… I immediately called to reschedule and the front desk person told me she was not allowed to provide services while I was in Arizona anyways. So they would not be able to reschedule me. Then I got a bill for a missed appointment. I called the front desk to dispute it- given she cannot practice out of state so my services should have ended prior to me moving... The new front desk lady was rude and said her assistant I spoke to earlier was mistaken and Bartel was “doing me a favor” seeing me one last time in Arizona and they tried rescheduling me but because I didn’t reschedule she thought I should be financially responsible… Ethically this is not okay. She is the supervisor at that site and I’m worried her malpractice will only hurt the community she serves. I did not think I was sharing my deepest most vulnerable parts to such a transactional unempathetic therapist. Do not go here. Overcomers Counseling is a better option."
"After todays experience with the front desk staff, mostly “Jordan”, I’ve decided to seek treatment at another facility. Walked in for my appointment and was greeted very rudely by “Jordan” insisting that he had called me and left a message that my provider was not going to be in. I have zero issues with the provider not being available but what I do have an issue with is the tone and demeanor that “Jordan” had with me. I will not tolerate being disrespected and talked to so rudely for no reason. For people dealing with mental health issues, this is the last thing you want to be dealing with, a rude and unprofessional staff that talks to you like you’re a kid with no no empathy and people skills. I’m still waiting for the appointment cancellation email that Jordan said he was supposed to send me today but NEVER did. There are so many other places to choose with a professional staff. DO NOT choose this place!"
"I was seeing Kristen for about a year, started off well until there was a billing issue. There's a 24hr cancellation policy but they don't answer the phones and state they take 48 business hours to get back to you by which time you have been charged $145 for a "no show" that's not even your fault. Finally got through to front desk and stated I would like to be refunded, they refused. Within the hour I got an email from Kristen stating she is terminating treatment. I wish I would have know earlier she sees patients as a monetary value and nothing else. Billing seems to be an ongoing theme with complaints."
