"Class action lawsuit waiting to happen. Look at every single Centura Urgent Care in Denver and they are littered with double billing issues and deceptive practices. What happens is they are in network for most people who have insurance yet the doctor's themselves are not. Went on Sunday morning within the Urgent Care hours for sore throat and potential ear infection. 2 hours later after a strep test and botched ear cleaning they send my wife home. At no point in this 2 hour process did they disclose to her, or I, that the doctor was out of network. During our visit I found all their reviews throughout Denver with billing complaints and deception so I took it up directly with the front desk asking for the copay amount and the cost of the services my wife had performed and he said "I cannot tell you I just send it to insurance and you can call them." Monday morning my wife gets a call from her Primary Care Doctor that they were notified about an Emergency Room visit. We specifically told the front desk this was for Urgent Care, were within the Urgent Care hours and it was classified as such on the written paperwork. Called the insurance company and they confirmed that the copay should be $50, but the doctor was indeed out of network and just like many others on here, did not disclose that to us. The insurance will be monitoring this over the next few days and I'm hoping this does go smoothly for us. This place is outright deceptive."
"I have Humana Insurance and Centura is within my network. I have a $125 copay for Urgent Care visits with my coverage. Which I paid upon the visit. Later I received a bill for $85 from US Acute Care Solutions (not Centura). Then another bill for $80 from Centura for Urgent Care. The billing is very confusing. Don't go to this facility unless you are 100% clear on your health coverage and who pays for what. What I thought would be $125 ended up costing me $290. Lesson learned. The doctors and staff were all great. The facility was nice and clean. I give that a 5 star experience. The billing has been a huge waste of my time."
"Do not go to this place, if you don't want to enter billing hell. What they do, seems like a fraud to me. I had a tooth infection and did not have a strong pain killer. This happened to be at night time when Kaiser Urgent Care was already closed, and no dentist office was open either to help me with my problem. All I needed a prescription for a pain killer, but they offered me an injection to numb the part of the gum where it hurt. They could not even make the injection (swallowed all they tried to inject). The only help I got from them was two Oxycodone-Acetaminophen tablets and prescription, and I didn't expect anything more. But later I got a bill where it stated that total charge is $4,228.32 and my out of pocket cost is 1,257.08 with $200 copay. 1st - my copay for emergency is $100, not $200. 2nd - they billed me for something I didn't get the service for. 3rd - they charged me $$$ for the numbing injection (must be price for anesthesia) Before going to Centura Emergency Room do a research and pay attention to the complains. Check BBB. I don't believe in good reviews anymore after I've been offered a discount for my good review (different business). Updated 2/16/19: Don't believe their responses which don't mean anything. I called their patient advocate several times, never could reach anyone. No phone call returns. I called Medical Records office, as soon you pick the number from phone automated system, it disconnects the call. I discussed the problem with my insurance and their billing department, they told me that it will take 45 days to investigate, but after a few weeks I got the bill from collector now."
"Welcome to billing hell... Go anywhere but here. I had gone to the urgent care in 2017, no problems and a fair price. My husband went in Jan 2018 for a flu meds since our entire family had already been diagnosed and he was the last one to get it. Jan 2018 apparently they switched to a new billing style to separate facility fees from doctor fees and send you 2 bills instead. Because they refused to itemize the bills, it can't be disputed and use out of network doctors without telling you so you get trapped there too and bill the max that your medical insurance will pay out. So no tests, no treatments and you still have to get your medications from a separate pharmacy will set you back approximately $400 minimum here with insurance (original bill was $1049!). Their billing center is so awful to work with, one of the customer service reps actually faked a customer satisfaction survey and hung up on me. I spoke with my insurance company and they explained that its a creative but barely legal way to work the system to squeeze consumers as hard as possible. Concentra Highlands Ranch that we used to go to only charged $100 and all "facility" and doctors fees were included. It's worth the extra drive. Steer clear of the Centura network."
"What a great experience I had at my community Emergency and Urgent Care! An immaculate, cheerful, and welcoming environment. My stepson was brought back to an examination room within minutes. Both the nurse and physician were very knowledgeable and spent time answering many questions I had. They explained that this was an "urgent care" visit and that I would be billed accordingly. What a relief that was! What also stood out to me, was the personalized care they provided...from the warm blankets, to the selection of soda for his upset stomach, offering him a remote to watch what he wanted...they addressed everything a mother would. :) Thank you so much for making us feel right a home."
