"One of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had... 2nd only to a hotel I stayed at once that had bed bugs. That being said it did have some good points. Good: price, warm pool, nicely decorated rooms, the hotel staff is very friendly. Great location, loved the sunroof (pool room) Bad: ants all over the pool floor, dirty washcloth from previous guests left In the tub, I was laughed at when I asked if they had Porta cribs (many hotels do), they were In the middle of renovations which in and of itself would not have been a problem however they clearly did not have safety in mind. The day we arrived when we got outside they had broken furniture thrown all over the side parking lot, when we got inside there was wet paint all over literally wall to wall, they had open paint buckets on the ground, they had pieces of plaster from knocked down walls and screws all over the ground. This is a huge safety issue considering I have a toddler. Not to mention they worked late and started early in the morning, always loud construction sounds from upstairs and in the adjoining room. And the biggest issue i had was with them allowing the workers to party on Friday night in lobby until 3 in the morning. Drinking and loud music. heard all the way in our room, neither myself nor my child were able to sleep until they left."
"Worst hotel experience ever. Stayed here over night just to try it out. They’re doing construction/renovating the hotel and they put me in a room directly under construction. I was woken up at 7:30 am to hammering, sawing, drilling and scrapping from the room directly above me. I couldn’t sleep in or enjoy my stay. I spoke to other guests who were also woken up by construction. I was offered no refund or credit. This could have been a simple easy, comfortable stay, but I was so frustrated by the lack of tack and hospitality, I was out of there by 8:30. Would never recommended this place to anyone."
"Pros - clean rooms, excellent housekeeping but have to request them to clean, friendly front desk and good area. Over all really nice hotel. Cons - breakfast was very sub par. Juice machine was out, milk dispenser broken, waffle maker spray empty for a few days, no fruit aside from apples which everyone touches, no sausage or eggs, mainly dry foods- breads, muffins, waffles, cereal. Front desk has a mini store in the front which is compleltey empty which gives you an off feeling. Would stay here again although would recommend change in breakfast display/items, and front desk mini store re stock so someone coming in the first time isn’t turned off."
"We made this booking when the hotel was previously owned by Wyndham, so we were a little surprised to see that it had changed ownership and wasn’t what we were expecting. As someone else said it has a lot of potential. It appears they are in the midst of updates/renovations. Yes it’s an older building but aside from that our room was incredibly clean, the service and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make breakfast earlier than usual for our hockey boys. They were accommodating of letting the team have some fun and eat meals in the lobby. Overall our stay was good. I only have 2 complaints 1. The 2 queen beds were more like full beds, while they are likely newer mattresses and the bedding was extremely comfortable, they are not big enough for two large adults. My husband is 6’3 and he needed his own bed so I ended up sleeping in the same bed as my kiddo which isn’t terrible it just wasn’t what we expected/paid for you know. 2. Our room keys kept deactivating, so we had to get new keys a few times. Not the worst thing in the world but definitely mildly inconvenient. Other than that lots of pros The pool area was nice and the pool was heated. The room was very clean The showers had excellent water pressure and got really nice and hot which is great after a cold day in the mountains. Friendly staff. Good location to get to all the hockey rinks we needed to as well as good restaurants and local adventures/attractions. Less than 40 minutes from manitou and garden of the gods."
"This hotel has potential to be really nice. Pluses: next door to my fav pizza place Old Chicago! And Outback. If you use the pool the days the British Swim school uses it, the water is over 90 degrees… but it’s loud! The room has coffee , microwave and mini fridge which were convenient. Great location! Safeway is just a few miles away and the mall & tons of restaurants. There’s a cool hiking trail a 1/3 block away by the creek. Negatives: breakfast had no protein , few good choices. Elevators are FREEZING cold. Renovations are in progress ( thank God!) TVs are not SMART so no on-demand movies or Netflix which mattered this trip because we were snowed in. Creamer for coffee is powered ..yuck The “store” had few choices and no drinks yet. Overall I’d stay again especially if they keep improving."
