Avis Car Rental

"The whole pick up and drop off experience is seamless. However the dodge Hornet we got was a horrible car. noisy, not good MPG, overall poor car quality. And what was impressive about this is that it only had 2k miles. For a new car it felt horrible. Avis should consider to eliminate that option from their float."

"Booked a minivan and got assigned one that had been sideswiped. I told the front desk about it after discovering it and was told it was fine the damage had been documented. They missed the point that I was given a damaged vehicle at full rate when there were other exact vehicles available on site. They should have offered additional savings to take the damaged vehicle or offered to swap to one of their other minivans. Pickup was around 10pmAnd kids were tired, otherwise I would have put up more resistance from their service counter. The vehicle should have not even been in their fleet. Side swiped on passenger side and functional damage on the interior. Pics attached. Company rental partner so I have to use Avis. So I’ll use them again but maybe others with more freedom to choose Will want to reconsider."

"We arrived at the Denver airport expecting to have a car ready for pickup as a preferred member who booked 6 months in advance. Instead we were met with a line longer than a football field that wrapped around the preferred building in the cold and snowy conditions. Since we had small kids we instead went inside the larger building where there was another mile long line. In the end we had to wait over two and a half hours to pick up the car. When asked Avis employees kept saying there weren’t enough cars but there were hundreds of cars in their lot. The reality was that Avis grossly understaffed the facility during a holiday weekend to save money and the customers had to suffer. No apologies were given. No empathy expressed, not even enough seats as people were sitting all over the floor. Disaster… mismanagement, and clearly a company just choosing the bottom line over its customers. I would not wish this experience upon anyone."

"I had the worst experience renting from Avis. Firstly at the airport rental facility they offered me a toyota tacoma saying that it’s comparable to RAM 1500. When I went out to the lot I didn’t find the truck. I saw RAM 1500 in the lot and asked for it and they gave it to me. The next day while driving on the road I tried to wash my windshield and found that its not working. The whole situation was scary as I could not see anything on the road since my windshield was covered in dust and washer wouldn’t work. I Stopped at the gas station and noticed that the washer fluid is completely frozen and I can’t refill my own. Later I realized that they didn’t even give me any contract or safety check documents. After this I went to another Avis and they changed the vehicle for me. The next car had the similar issue. Washer fluid was frozen and almost empty. I had to refill it and somehow make it work. On top of all this the tires had very less tread left due to which the car was slipping a lot in the highway and in the snow. It was a terrible experience and posed a safety risk to me. It could easily have caused an accident and put my life in danger. They didn’t even gave me a snow scraper. The staff at the airport was the worst and didn’t give me any documents or help me rent a safe car. All in all I can’t recommend Avis to anyone."

"Picking up the rental vehicle at Denver airport was super-fast. Check-in, choose vehicle (out of what type I reserved), get keys, drive away. I extended the rental twice on the Avis site, and that was seamless. Operations seem to have streamlined, I have never experienced such a quick process with any of the other rental companies. Oh, and Avis seems to have some of the best pricing available."
