"In my opinion, one of the best low-rent apartment houses, for individual tenants, in Des Moines. Each equipped conveniance apartment has among other things, its own air conditioner, kitchenette, full bathroom, and steel door with deadbolt. There is also 24/7 staff, and/or security guards. Section 8 tenants also have access to staff, guards, community meals, day rooms, and community activities. Day rooms have free cable HDTV's, vending machines, exercise equipment, and a big kitchen for community meals. Also has a food pantry, mail delivery, security cameras, and an onsite laundry room. Located in the downtown business district."

"This is a one-of-a-kind facility in our country, run by the Des Moines Association of YMCA. Absolutely wonderful supportive environment for those individuals that need assistance with housing. The atmosphere is clean and comfortable. I have volunteered there many times and know many of the staff. I am always proud to be part of this organization as they help so many people out."
