"New lease manager so please run. He doesn’t do half of the things the old lease manager would and has some elderly woman (assuming it’s a building owner) having him store packages that should go to someone’s apartment door on a shelf in his office and is not checking out the packages or making sure someone is truly only taking what belongs to them. Bring back Peter."
"Lived here for about 4 yrs and I am satisfied with my Living space. I only wish this location had 2 bdrm units. Peter is accommodating, Max could probably use a vacation. He works really hard. They aren't perfect, but for the location and Price you just can't beat it!"
"Went to look at an apartment with my fiance about 2 weeks ago. Told to come anytime after 5, came around 5:30. Management office said person was on break. Okay! Left and came back around 6 and it was still closed. Texted the person we were in contact with, and had no answer. Ended up leaving annoyed that we had wasted our time. Sucks because I had been looking at these apartments for weeks. Still haven't received an explanation from the person or anyone in the management office. 0/10."
"Probably the best deal you’ll get for the price. I rented a studio for $765/mo with everything included except internet. Peter, who manages the complex, even prorated my first months rent without me asking since I moved in on the 3rd instead of the 1st. He also was willing to change my lease from 4 months to 3 months due to a change in work, despite me signing my lease already. My only complaint would be that noise leaks from the hallway a decent amount, but noise from other rooms is not an issue unless that person is excessively loud. During the last few weeks I was there, there was a person who was acting belligerent in the hallway outside someone’s apartment. I notified Peter and he was quick to take care of the issue, I didn’t hear that person again. The apartments are a bit dated as well, but that is to be expected at the price point and location of these apartments. Overall, Civic Center Court was a good place to live, I would recommend this place for anyone looking to live downtown on a budget. P.S. Parking is free 24/7 on the 4 bridges that cross the Des Moines river near downtown. I very rarely had an issue finding a spot after work. If you park on the Court Street bridge, it’s only a 2 block walk from Civic Center Court apartments."
"I've been at Civic Center Court Apartments for over six months now. While the place is a bit dated, the apartments are spacious, the location is great, my neighbors are quiet, I haven't had any problems with mice, bugs, or mold, the community grills are handy, and it might be the only apartment downtown with a pool. Also, any maintenance request have been handled within 24 hours and the property manager has been very friendly and easy to work with. Would recommend."
