"I had lived here for the past three years; some of it good, some of it bad. So, that's why it's a three-star rating. I'll share the good and the bad, so that way a decision can be made for whoever is reading this. The bad; the first year and a half was not the greatest, especially with the manager (which, I forget her name, but she doesn't work there any more). - Maintenance wasn't the greatest when responding to maintenance tickets, which resulted with me calling the former manager if they received the ticket. Any time I put in a ticket, I'd be lucky if I had a maintenance member come to help that same day or even the next. - Management (for the first year) was lacking in many departments, so if there were any other issues, the former manager wanted you to handle it by yourself for awhile before she'd take your issues seriously. - The walls are nearly paper thin-beside, above, AND below your unit. I would hear my upstairs neighbor storming around and/or running around, but I would wake up in the early morning being able to hear my downstairs neighbor's alarm ringing on SILENT. - Many issues with the community-especially on how they handle it. At the time, rules weren't really enforced when children/teenagers are out late, especially when it comes to the fitness room and the pool. Equipment and properties have been damaged because the community doesn't respect/read the rules that management has tried to enforce. (This a bit more of a recent point) The good; the latter half of the first year and recently (since I have moved out very recently) was much better. - Maintenance has somewhat gotten better when fixing the issues within the unit, so that results with having to not call them as often to fix a single issue. However, you would still be lucky if they came the same day. - Management is much better and friendlier-they're compassionate and understanding with any issues that you might have with your unit/neighbors/etc. The two women who work there as of this moment were much nicer and I enjoyed speaking with them. Honestly, this was a great starter-experience. I learned many things since this was the first apartment-community that I moved into. However-it's just that. I believe this is a great starter place, especially if income is a little tight. It's definitely a learning experience! Albeit not the fondest of memories when first living here, it became much better with the change of staff as well as management."
"Been living here for about few years and now after moving from one unit to the next been in a 1 bed to a 2 bedroom back to a one bedroom apartment the help on this site is the worst. I have been putting more and more tickets in they come out and try to fix the unit then they will say they will come back but never do. I would have to call and call back to get someone. Did some investigation with others who live here the cops patrol the area all the time my ceiling in my kitchen has not been fixed after a roof damage at all still been 3-6 months and still not getting any progress done to fix it it looks like there may be mold in the area and not sure the staff are nice but the workmanship is worthless I feel like I am not getting what I paid in this unit at all. Worst place to live at if you need items or utilitys and work fixed in the unit"
"Moved in over the weekend. This apartment Definitely has something I would change if I were the owner. But otherwise great place. Maintenance Was right on top of a few things that needed attention right away. Managers are super friendly, pool, grounds super unkept and clean! TONS of room and storage in apt! Neighborhood is quite. FEELS like home. My family and I are super excited to be here and canโt wait to see what the future has for us in our new apartment! So far great!"
"I have lived in these apartments for almost a year, I just renewed my lease because I love it here! The grounds are beautiful and the management is taking steps to improve it! We've had issues with one of our entry doors either being tampered with or being propped open and broken, and maintenance has been great to stay on top of the issue! Management is really kind and helpful to the residents, and work orders get done in a very timely manner! I'm excited to stay for another 18 months! Thank you for all the hard work you do, Shadow Ridge!"
"Unorganized. Carpet needed replaced in our unit and we were supposed to be asked if we wanted it replaced. That's a stupid question really. After we moved in we noticed stains coming through, patchwork replacements, horrible stench when the heat came, etc, etc. Since we moved our things in it is unacceptable that we would have to disrupt our lives and move our animals and move all of our furniture along with other extenuating circumstances they very well know about to get it replaced. The manager states they have emailed the owner and was supposed to be called back regardless on a certain day. I was not called back by anyone and it took my going into the office and speaking to the manager to get any type of response. The response was, of course, the owner hadn't gotten back to them about us having to clean the carpets twice a month since we don't want our lives completely disrupted. Another note, the manager also stated in showing the carpet that the tenants smoked outside, I replied with a statement saying that it was great and hard to find non-smoking apartments nowadays. Now when I complain about the smoke that is seeping into our apartment that I am not supposed to be around I am told by said manager that I never requested to have non-smoking and that if it was a problem that I wouldn't have been given this unit. Furthermore, the apartment itself and amenities within were horrible. I was told these things would be before our move-in date. Dishwasher leaked and heating element was bad, cabinets are still damaged, sink backs up, bathtub didn't drain, fridge smells bad still, we had to clean the floors in the kitchen, paint the closet doors, I could go on and on. Last but not least, a friend of ours had to lawyer up after a rather large leak ruined his tv, bed, ceiling, and other items. The apartments didn't do anything till the lawyer and the owner of the apartments called and chewed them out. Finally getting said friend into a new apartment. Bottom line is, if you expect to get what you pay for then stay away from these apartments."
