"DON'T MOVE HERE OR TO ANY WESTLAND OWNED PROPERTIES!!! Our roof has been leaking since we moved in five years ago. Every year they'd lie and say it has been fixed and once the rain came it leaked in the same spots without fail. This year it got even worse. More leaks and mushrooms growing out of our ceiling. In order for them to even listen to us, we had to call city code enforcement and withhold rent. I wish we had gone through with going to court over this, but the regional manager promised us so many great things and clearly did all that just to stop this from going to court. They pretended to care about us after code enforcement showed up a second time and fined them because they don't want to be fined more. Once they finally had someone come check our apt, they found mold in the wall in my room. Now we have to move out to another apt. They made it seem like they're doing us a huge favor by giving us another "bigger" apt to switch too. This apt they gave us to switch to isn't one of the remodeled units (our current one is) and is a HUGE step down for what we have now. The regional manager told us she wanted to upgrade this apt when she found out the property manager was going to give it to us. So they know it's not at all comparable to what we have now. They're still charging us the same amount of rent for the new apt ofc. And they made it seem like they're doing us a huge favor by directly transferring our lease and not charging us more. The apt they're forcing us to move to is tiled all over, including the bedrooms. My mother can't stand on tile when it's cold due to health problems. We notified them about this issue as well as our other concerns about this other apt after we pestered them into letting us see the apt they were going to give us to switch to. They ignored us for two weeks and we kept being promised the managers would call us. They waited until the issues couldn't be ignored and wasted time finding us a new apt and they're making us pay the price for it. They have no concern for the emotional distress they have put us through. It seems like their code enforcement deadline is coming up so they need to complete the work asap so they don't get fined again. Now they refuse to talk to us; no one answers the phone or email and every time we go into the office, magically the manager isn't there because they're in training. They told us this even they are only giving us SIX DAYS to pack up our whole apt we've lived in for five years and switch to one that is even worse than our current one and will make my mother's health problems worse. The company can spend billions of dollars buying new buildings/properties but spend zero on fixing anything in the ones they own. They don't care about any of their tenants. All they do is make false promises and lie. They clearly condone leaving their tenants in unlivable conditions and doing nothing to remedy the issues. Save yourself the hassle and don't move to this property or any of the other ones owned by this company."
