Urology Center of Iowa at Broadlawns

"Gave 5 stars at first when I Met Dr. Gallagher & staff at Broadlawns medical center. All were very nice and professional! Listened to me & answered all my questions as best he could. He Had me take an X-ray & X-ray tech was very nice/professional also. All treated me like a person and made me feel very comfortable. It was a great introduction to the urology center. Thank You. Few days later I feel I needed to edit this somewhat. The appt itself was fine but when I went to their website to look at my chart they said they took my bp and listed the numbers etc. they never took it. There were other areas in which they said they palpated my lymph nodes & bladder and this was never done. The nurse took my height, weight and went over my med history, that was all. She even got some of that wrong too &that was from forms I had just filled out in the waiting room. I feel like they should have left the areas blank if they weren’t performed. When Dr came in we talked & I showed him where my pain was, he tapped on my back a bit and that was the extent of any exam. To his credit he was not there when the nurse was so he may have assumed she had done all of these things. To me that is falsifying records. I don’t have any other way of explaining it. when lady called me to talk about X-ray, I told her what was put in my record that didn’t take place. She said she’d let the supervisor know & I asked if she could have supervisor call me. I have yet to hear from them. I’m sure the Dr is a good Urologist. I went to this hospital because I have bad insurance and it was cheaper. I won’t be going back. I just can’t trust any establishment that would lie in my medical record. I’ll wait until I get better insurance & go elsewhere."

"Dr. Schulte is an exceptional Dr. (personality & skills). He was exceptionally nice and informative without making me feel anxious or scared when I found out I had a cancerous renal mass on my kidney. His calm and informative demeanor made me feel at ease. He surgically removed the mass with robotic technology and called me personally a few days after I had gone home to check up on me. I am thankful we crossed path's, I highly recommend Dr. Schulte, I really can't thank him enough for saving my life. I would also like to highly recommend Broadlawns Urology Center. This was my first time going to Broadlawns for anything and I was amazed at how clean and friendly all the staff was. During my overnight stay here I was given excellent care and if I should ever need a hospital stay again I would choose Broadlawns."
