"What sort of clinic holds a Family Medical Leave application for $16.00!! We have been to this clinic at least 5 times since my daughters were in an accident three weeks ago. Never were we asked to pay $16.00 or told we had an outstanding balance. Until today. Today they decided to hold the FML application hostage for $16.00. FML is used when a family member is dependent on your care. The timing is just foul and inconsiderate!! It seems unbelievable to me. Not that they wanted paid, but the timing of when they decided to demand it. I haven't been happy here and neither has my family. It has been hard to leave since my kids have always gone to UnityPoint clinics, but this makes that decision a lot easier."

"Had a friend go to see Mari Kait and she is a terrible care provider. Disregards symptoms and worries based on factors that shouldn’t be judged in a hospital or doctor office. Surprised she has not been sued for malpractice yet. Extremely disappointing to see someone like her with her values working here but not surprised based on the terribly low ratings of every office in des moines. Think twice before going there unless you want to be judged and have your time wasted."

"The staff here on a Sunday afternoon were incredible. They were swamped but you never would know it by how they interact with you. Front desk young lady was super nice and got asked “when am I next” a hundred times and kept a bright smile. Nurse Melisa was excellent. Dr. Andrews was hilarious and he was super great with kids. Nurse Dallas even got me a glass of water while I was waiting!"

"We just had a great experience at UnityPoint Merle Hay. Our daughter was having chest pains so our pediatrician told us to go to urgent care (in case she needed an x-ray). The receptionist was polite and helpful and we were able to make a reservation over the phone, so little wait time when we arrived. When we got there, we got right in, covid measures in place and receptionist and nurse were friendly. We had Dr Andrews and he was truly amazing. Thorough, fast and extremely kind and comforting to my daughter. Also, he was hilarious and really set us both at ease. (When we left, she asked if he could be her primary caregiver.) I've had to come to this clinic for my own urgent care needs, but never had to take one of my kids there. I've never had a bad experience, but this trip was exceptional."
