Once Upon a Child - Coralville

"It was my first time visiting our local Once Upon a Child and all I have to say is, what a lovely experience. My one year daughter was having a break down in the middle of the store and one of the associates took the time out to play with her so I could get some shopping done, her name is Aimee. In addition to the excellent customer service, there’s a lot of variety of things to choose from and the clearance sales are insane. I got a whole lot of Schleich figurines for under $10, when each one costs about that much, brand new. My only recommendation for management is that they offer the shoppers shopping carts, considering that it’s a store for kids stuff. It’s really hard as a mum to lug a shopping bag and an overactive toddler around. I had to put her in her stroller but it wasn’t without a fight. Also, since management recommends it’s sellers to sell their clothing only after being laundered, there is an overwhelming chemical laundry detergent smell that you’ll get when you enter the store, you’ll get used to it but I just thought I’d give y’all a disclaimer. "Honestly I was so beyond disappointed with the customer service I experienced in this store and unfortunately I’ll never return. None of the associates were welcoming in the slightest. However, the associate that checked us out was HORRIBLE!! She was quite literally in the middle of a temper tantrum, slamming things around, didn’t greet us, threw my items all over the table, possibly breaking one of the toys I just purchased. She ended up knocking over all of the stuff on her table, making a fool of herself and after I asked if she was okay, she rolled her eyes and said “fine”. My children were treated horribly as well. Yelled at by a different associate not to touch merchandise that was on display FOR THEM TO TOUCH. The store is second hand materials and designed for children. Absolutely astonishing."
