"I was in a tumultuous experience and desperate for legal advice. I used my works legal insurance and felt like because I did this, I was given a bare bones experience despite being readily available to pay more had it been necessary. I had to become a guardian of a disabled sibling. I was really made to believe that my only option was to become a permanent guardian. I did this, because well I am not a lawyer and I was following my guidance. I ended up in the worse situation of my life. In hindsight, my lawyer should’ve got me appointed as a temporary guardian and extended the temporary as needed, but instead it was rushed through. The ball was dropped at every corner, things like forgetting to serve the disabled person so the judge wouldn’t even hear my case so the case was delayed, to the point my temporary guardianship expired which led to me being locked out of the wards funds for a period of time. Or when I said I wanted to quit as a guardian, but made it clear this person still needed a guardian, I was told just terminate the guardianship they will be fine people make bad choices! When I went to the hearing for this, he failed to advise me a final accounting was required prior to this hearing and the judge wouldn’t even hear my case. At this point I fired this firm and went with Elder Law which I can’t recommend more. I had brought up the office of public guardian taking over my case, and was discouraged by my lawyer at this firm saying it takes a really long time and is next to impossible essentially. Elder law got that done no issues. Lastly, when I had asked for guidance on how to distribute funds as a guardian I was told that I could just reimburse myself from the wards funds, but never advised of limits of $500 for these situations. I later had to answer for this in court and made it clear based off the emails I presented in court it was due to extremely poor legal advise from a lawyer who dropped the ball every step of the way. I can’t speak for the whole firm, but David Meyer has no business representing anyone in a guardianship case."
"They never contacted me back. Maybe it’s because they don’t want to work with someone who uses a MetLife legal plan. I used the “request a consultation” form on their website, maybe it isn’t working?"
"We worked with Angi Burmeister for our estate planning. She was very personable and thorough, taking a lot of time with us to explain our options, and providing great insights into how we best plan. Her office was very easy to work with and responsive."
"Blood-sucking attorneys who wasted every cent of my mother's money. Don't waste your money on this "firm". My mother is old and used the phone book and this was one of the first names that popped up. Don't get duped. Call legal aid, they can probably recommend an attorney who actually knows what they are talking about. Not just the first in the phone book."
"The first two times I used to Law office, they were exceptional. The last time I would say they were OK. Angela is very straight shooter. She gives a client very good idea on what she can do for you."
